What was she trying to say? April hadn’t really thought about her words before she spoke. Chewing on her lower lip as she tried to find words to explain what her thinking had been in that comment. “No probably not moving in with Rae and Lucas,” she finally answered, shaking her head ‘no’ as she spoke. “That would be too many people in one small space,” did she mean something else? Rae was living with Silas right now and seemed happy, but she and Dillon weren’t really at the living together stage were they? She didn’t even know if they were actually dating or what this was. “Maybe something else? I mean, at some point….” She couldn’t believe she was asking him to maybe live with her at some point, maybe.
“I don’t know why he does that,” April responded with a shrug, really unsure as to why it was Lucas could be incredibly kind to her at all times, yet other people never got to see that side – well, besides Rae and George that was. “That’s just kind of Lucas, he does that to everyone,” it maybe didn’t make it better, but at least it wasn’t just Dillon he did it to. “And I know you didn’t mean it like that, but you wouldn’t be the first person to call Lucas an ass.”
April laughed softly. “We definitely can’t let you burn down the kitchen,” she remarked with a smirk. “Considering we’re making sandwiches I think we’re okay.” It was hard for her not to smile when DJ reached down to help her stand, although her independent side hated that she needed the help, there was another part of her that liked the fact that he did things like that for her. “Careful, some people might warn against making a woman the leader.” She teased.
“And I would totally be a pod person if I worried about things like that,” April answered with a laugh. “So I guess we balance each other out.” Again, she was saying things before really thinking about what she was saying. “Oh, I didn’t know that,” granted there was a lot about the kitchen she didn’t know. “And I don’t think they’ll mind at all.” Or at least she didn’t think anyone would. “Lady Nichols, now we’re getting formal?” April asked with a half-smile, grabbing a couple of things and shoving them into a bag before she made her way towards the door.
