Evan wasn't much a fan of infirmaries, either. That wasn't to say that he didn't trust the medics around here; he trusted them well enough, but infirmaries had been nothing but unpleasant experiences recently. Right now, too, it felt worse. It wasn't him laying in the bed, and that made it even worse.
He had no idea what had caused the false labor, but this was definitely another worrisome experience to add to the infirmary file. Stress. He was sure that it was stress that she hadn't told him about. But what was stressing her out? They'd cut back on a lot of her stresses, hadn't they? He'd find out sooner or later. Hopefully.
Sleep hadn't come easily that night, and it was a miracle that it had come at all. Every time he was in here for someone other than himself, he had the damnedest time sleeping. But eventually (and with the help of a couple of sleeping pills that he'd gotten from the medical staff), it had come, and it hit him hard.
And for once, his sleep had been dreamless. That was a nice change.
As he stretched awake, he felt a soft weight on his shoulder and gave a soft smile as he looked down at Leah. "Hey, cher," he smiled a little bit as he carded a hand through her hair. "How long have you been awake?"
