When Leah had suggested another attempt at yoga, Vienna had been hesitant. But her desire to spend some time with her friend had won out over her pride, so here she was doing her best to mimic the poses Leah was showing her – apparently not even her fun little quick reflexes trick could help her with yoga – It had to be a bad thing when a eight month pregnant woman could show her up at yoga, right?
Glancing over at her friend while still attempting to hold the pose she was in, she huffed. “Says you,” she remarked without much bit behind her words. “And trust me, I’m counting my lucky stars that you can’t torture me with more advanced poses, although it’d probably only be fair if you could, after all the photo shoots I’ve put you through.” It probably would have been payback in some ways. At the mention of her sister, she paused. “Bea’s always been a quick study on stuff like this.” There was definitely a little bit of envy in her tone as she spoke.
Things were better between her and Bea lately, they still argued of course. But not every conversation dissolved into bickering and anger. Maybe the key was that both of them seemed to be trying harder to see the other’s point of view, or maybe they were finally figuring out how to live with each other after so much time a part. There were still moments though that she wondered if Bea was annoyed with her, or would prefer she didn’t ask as many personal questions as she did, or have such a strong desire to discuss what was going on her life with her sister.
Although oddly enough, their communication about personal shit seemed to have gotten slightly better because of the whole Brandon thing. Not fantastic, but better and she would take that. For the most part she still avoided asking any kind of relationship advice of her sister, having learned that lesson the hard way earlier when one such conversation had turned into an argument.
“Things are better, kind of,” she answered honestly. “I mean I think we’re finally figuring each other out.” And it doesn’t feel like she hates me anymore. If there was one person that Vienna seemed to truly seek advice from it was Leah, and she supposed that was because the other woman was the closest thing she had to a best friend. “There’s still times though that I wonder if she’s just putting up with me, you know?” Standing up straight for a moment, she sighed softly. “Like when I start asking her about personal stuff, like whatever’s going on between her and Brandon.” Granted none of her attempts had turned into arguments, but she could pick up on the subtle cues that Bea wished she’d stop asking about it.
