Noah’s reply had Ledger breaking into a fit of giggles, his wide brown eyes surveying the sky to double check that his momma’s friend was right, that the sky was still in fact up there. “Chicken little would tell us if it wasn’t.” The three year old informed Noah, remembering a story his Bea-Bea had read to him.
It was almost adorable how wide Ledger grinned when Noah replied in the positive when it came to the party. He was completely oblivious to the fact that parties weren’t always things adults liked going to, mostly because he loved them. “Are you going to dress up?” Ledger barely paused for a moment before adding. “That would be awesome!” Again it was lost on him that some adults didn’t like dressing up.
Vienna would never admit it, but she was wholly enjoying Ledger ‘grilling’ Noah with all his random questions. To her it said a lot about how much he cared about her, that he was willing to let her three year old twenty question him. That and the sheer fact that he hadn’t turned tail when he found out about Ledger, or taken the opportunity to end things while they were fighting – if what had happened between them could truly be called a fight. It was more like a fight that lead to an awkward couple of weeks between them.
Pulling herself from her thoughts, she returned Noah’s grin with one of her own. Prepared to step in and steer Ledger away from the idea of laser tag if Noah couldn’t find a way to do it.
Being a fairly easygoing child, Ledger just shrugged when Noah explained that laser tag couldn’t happen. “Okay,” he answered simply, switching gears quickly. “Can we go play on the playground?” All thoughts of the laser tag were long gone, replaced by his new suggestion for an activity.
“Nice save,” Vienna murmured as she leaned into Noah, seeking as much contact as she could get while keeping things g-rated due to little prying eyes.
