Obviously Jace needed to spend more time around her, because if he did he would have figured out by now that Nick was prone to giving people a hard time, even if she liked them. “What can I say, I’m hard to impress,” she paused a beat before adding. “And I’m also just giving you a hard time.” She pulled a face when Jace pretty much told her she was using the whole Silas thing as an excuse. “I know how to make a pipe bomb, I just find it far more fun and interesting to use actual explosives.” It was a thing with her, Nick couldn’t entirely explain it, but it just was.
“You had some colorful friends, didn’t you?” Something about Jace struck her as the sort of person who had a whole group of eclectic people as friends. Maybe she was just assuming things though. “Hold up, you learned how to fire breathe simply because you were bored?” Granted she wasn’t really one to judge, since back when the world wasn’t falling a part some people might consider some of the things she had done to entertain herself to be fairly odd as well.
Nick was still carrying her little companion as she followed Jace back towards the bonfire. “Yeah? Can’t say my opinion of New York City is all that great,” she began. “But I suppose that’s only because I came to the city after everything had fallen apart.”
