Ellie wriggled her nose. "This is how rabbits say hello."
Miah's arm was steadying, as she was sure he intended; she leaned into him gratefully, his heartbeat warm and pounding in her ear. It wasn't really dancing -- not really -- but the ensuing sway was at least halfway to the beat, and Ellie beamed up at him again as the song ended.
"Hey," she murmured, pulling back again. "I... It was you earlier? Playing." Her eyebrows lifted as if in question of the fact, though she was sure she'd seen him with his guitar. Singing. The little red girl had performed, too. Or had that been another time...?
Anyway. Eloise remembered then that she'd been speaking, and her gaze returned to Miah's with a kind of self-conscious glimmer. "I'm drunk. What I mean... I'm trying to say... Say you did well. You sounded very... Very nice!"
"As always," she added, realizing that their fingers were still twined together, swinging clumsily between them as she moved.
