When Ellie giggled it was hard not to join in. Miah wasn’t a giggler though, so his was more of a chuckle. There were days he wondered why he had fought so hard to get back here, and then moments like this happen and he’s reminded that there really is nobody in the world who knows him quite like Ellie does. And when so much has been lost, having the little things like that are important.
“Only when it comes to you, Lo,” he answered with a smirk, his gaze sweeping over her as she shimmied. Fuck. Just when he thought he had this whole ‘feelings’ thing under control, she had to go and do something like that. “I’m not living in a lamp though, alright.”
The music playing in the background was familiar – Miah was sure he had heard the song before, maybe even played it. But not enough to remember the words, and right now he didn’t care if he ever remembered them.
His expression was questioning as she stood on tip-toe with that smile on her face. It was second nature for him to slip his arm around her waist, and he told himself it was to keep her steady and not because he wanted to be that much closer to her.
“I always notice you,” he answered honestly, a smile turning up the corners of his mouth.
