There was an amused quirk to Silas mouth at Rae’s observation. He’d noticed EJ’s behavior, but had kept from saying something to Rae because he figured she’d say something when/if she was ready to let him carry EJ around for a while. “I noticed,” he commented. “I can take him for a while, since you know, he is my sidekick.” He reached over to ruffle EJ’s hair a little and grinned down at him, grateful that the mask he was wearing hadn’t frightened Rae’s son any. Though it would have given him the perfect excuse not to wear it.
He was definitely distracted from the EJ conversation when they got to talking about Rae’s costume and how it improved things. “I like what it’s doing to your rack too,” he admitted with a laugh and wink. “Maybe I should find Kori and thank her for her masterful costuming skills.” So he’d spent his fair share of time staring at Rae when he’d first seen her get up, it’s not like he expected her to expect a different reaction. He was pretty sure that she knew he was with her for more than her body, though he definitely appreciated that too. “Wouldn’t be right to abuse that power,” he stated and finished his sentence on a laugh, raising an eyebrow even though she couldn’t see the gesture. “Better than the last one? Bale, or whatever the fuck his name was.”
As far as things he could have worn, the Batman costume wasn’t that bad, even if it had it’s uncomfortable moments. Kori had done a great job at guessing the right fit for him, so at least he was saved from looking like an idiot in a poorly fit Batsuit.
It was those kind of expression that he’d never get tired of, and still, especially lately, had trouble feeling like he deserved completely. It was his own deal and he needed to work through it, but he’d been really trying to with Toby, on top of the usual drug rehab shit.
“Second options,” he answered without hesitation. “It’s been killing me trying to figure out what the fuck that key was for.” He knew it wasn’t a door key, that much had been obvious, and he’d started to have his suspicions about what it could be for, but it was probably just wishful thinking on his part. “Been so close to breaking down and bugging Stone and Jones about it, since they know.” Not that he would have gotten answers from either of them, but trying had crossed his mind more than once.
