“She worries about you. I know she does. She just has a poor way of communicating her concerns.” It was Leah's former method – yelling – but she'd gotten better about not overreacting. “I'm not sure what more to say about it other than to suggest you talk to her about it.”
“If she wants to,” Leah agreed. “Although I'm sure it'll be hard for her to sleep in the room with a baby crying half the night. Not that being right outside the room will make it much better, but...” Leah was already expecting a lot of sleepless nights with Ana. “She can decide what she wants to do.” Whatever helped Marigold not be a jealous big sister.
Nodding, she offered a small smile. “I know. I've been taking it easy lately. Letting the lazies win.”
Leah's brows bounced upwards in silent agreement. “I'm not sure if those names are better or worse,” she responded with a smirk. “You always say that,” she pointed out, rolling her eyes. “They'd only be jealous of you if they were allowed to make it so I couldn't talk. I wouldn't mind going back to being the hot, silent type. Mysteries are always fun, aren't they?” Probably not the brooding type, though. Not with her kids around.
With the mobile hung, Leah gave it an experimental spin before looking at Evan and giving an answer. “No reason. It was just a curious question, is all. I'll probably be too worn out to do anything more than hold her and watch her. If I even get the chance to do that. Lilah said she wants to hold Ana as often as we let her, so we might have to get in line like the rest of the family.”
