WHO: Zach & Maddie
WHAT: Panicked Maddie finds Zach in the infirmary - tells him about Gordy
WHERE: The infirmary
WHEN: March 18th, 2020; Late Afternoon
RATING: Medium, maybe.
Things in the infirmary had settled down to the point of almost being boring, but Zach honestly didn’t mind that. After the past few months he kind of felt like he could use some boring, though how long that was going to last he didn’t know. Life around Sing Sing never stayed calm for long. Currently his boring day was being spent in the back of the infirmary taking stock of their medical supplies, which were lower than he would have liked them to be – but as with most things they would make do until someone could do a run for more. Jotting another item down on the growing list of things they would need, Zach made a mental note to have Maddie rewrite his list at some point so that someone besides him would be able to read it. He was just in the process of writing out another couple items when he heard someone yelling for him. What the hell? Most of the nurses didn’t yell, and Talia didn’t either, but that was a distinctly female voice – a distinctly female voice that sounded a hell of a lot like Maddie, actually. Stepping out of the back storage room, Zach began moving in the direction the yelling was coming from. He tried to ignore his own panic as he ran through the various reasons his baby sister could be this worked up, but he needed to remain calm, if not for his sake, then for Maddie’s. “Please don’t let this be serious,” He muttered, hoping that maybe it was just some kind of false alarm. Yeah, maybe his younger sister was freaking out over nothing. Except he realized that was highly unlikely. As he made his way down the hallway and towards the reception area, that’s when he finally came across Maddie, and the sight of his sister really didn’t set his worries at ease. She looked frantic, no, that word didn’t encompass exactly how she looked – to him she looked almost as if she had seen a ghost and was freaking out accordingly. “Maddie?” Zach closed the space between them and placed his hands on her shoulders to stop her movement. “What’s wrong?” |
