WHO: Jax and Nick WHEN: January 17th, 2020; afternoon WHAT: hanging out after late night/early morning texting on the 16th WHERE: the greenhouse RATING: medium?
Jax felt a bit like a dumbass. After his wee hours of the morning texting spree with Nick, he'd tossed and turned for literally hours, finally falling asleep around four a.m. and then sleeping until two the next afternoon. After the things they'd said, he didn't want her to think he'd cooled off on it, so he'd hoped they could hang out the next day, but he'd been so groggy and out of sorts that he'd figured he wouldn't be good company. Somehow, some way, he had to get himself straightened out when it came to sleeping. Maybe he would hit up the infirmary for sleeping aids, even if it meant Zach possibly giving him the side-eye after their little text chat about condoms.
What? Not like he was expecting to do anything immediately, but did it hurt to be prepared? Often people made the mistake of thinking that Jax didn't have much between his ears because of his love for goofy stunts and babbling until his tongue nearly fell out, but that wasn't the case. He could be mature about things. Sometimes.
He'd spent the late morning to early afternoon working at the greenhouse, which was really a cool place. Something about the aroma of dirt and green things made him believe that winter would eventually be over. Once he was done with the tasks he'd been supposed to do, he looked around and realized it was quiet at this time of day. This might be a good place to wander around with Nick. They'd done the rec room a couple times already, and what else was he going to do, ask her to his cell? One day, maybe, but... yeah.
After a quick trip to brush his teeth, because hell no, he wasn't having any stank breath when he conversed with a girl, he texted her to see if she'd meet him in the greenhouse and then waited near the entrance, looking up at the sky through the nearest skylight. Jax couldn't wait for some actual sun that didn't come accompanied by frigid cold, for real.
