WHO: Micah and Leah WHAT: Rivals clashing! WHERE: Cafeteria WHEN: December 13, 2019; mid-morning? RATING: Medium (might change, tho?) CHALLENGE: Fuck You
Five days. It had been nearly a week since Micah arrived at Sing Sing. For the most part she had spent those five days in her cell, recovering in quiet solitude. On a few occasions though, she had become restless and wandered out into the facility. Choosing to look around on her own, rather then ask anyone.
It was during one of these previous explorations that she had found her way to the cafeteria. It had been a welcomed sight, especially having heard stories of how they had real food at Sing Sing. To a girl who'd been living off a very limited supply of canned food, the idea of eating an actual fact hot meal was better then any Christmas present could have been. So when she had awoken that morning, her stomach growling, she hadn't hesitated in heading back to that almost magical place.
Admittedly, part of her wanted to be ultra gluttonous and load her plate a mile high. To eat as much as she could as quickly as she could, before anyone else could come and snatch it away. Sort of like a feral dog some neighborhood kid decided to start feeding. As tempting as it sounded though, Micah knew better. Hell, even before she was off on her own, scrounging through the leftovers of already picked buildings, the food supply had been constrained. No, limited as food had been, her stomach had undoubtedly shrunk, meaning anything more then a normal sized portion would be a complete waste.
The cafeteria was fairly empty, most tables being completely so or seating only a few people. The breakfast rush had already come and gone. This suited Micah just fine though. Less people mulling about meant it was less likely anyone would to make small talk while she tried to eat. Small talk in general was never one of her favorite things, but small talk while she was trying to chew served as a whole other level of annoyance.
Plate in hand, she scanned the tables and veered toward one of the empty ones. Not realizing she'd forgotten to grab any silverware until she was already hunkered down in her seat.
With a muttered curse, she snatched her tray back up and stalked toward the forks. As she headed back toward her chosen seat, she barely missed plowing into a blonde coming the other direction. Rude, especially when all she wanted to do was eat her damn breakfast and that was proving to be a more trying task then it should be, she didn't apologize.
Instead she offered an annoyed, "Watch it," and kept moving.
