It was a bit easier for her to realize that people depended on her. At least Bennett depended on her. But people had depended on her all the time before the outbreak. At work and at home. It was an odd sensation when it happened. Though now really, it was just her and Bennett. Still, having anyone depend on you was something not to take likely. And she'd seen first hand about the lengths that humans would go to, even before the outbreak had hit. When she went up against terrorists, or infiltrating the mafia. Sure, it wasn't a good representations of hte population at it's whole. However people now acted just like they were in some kind of crime family. Look out for number one first, and then if you feel like it, protect the family.
An architect. That part always astounded her. How for some reason the ones who had survived weren't the elite military types. They were people who did the most basic of jobs. Not that she was including herself in that exactly. But still, it did surprise her how different everyone was, and she wondered if everyone had something in common that made them survive when others didn't. She'd never know, but she'd still wonder. Lucretia nodded her head, listening to him as they walked and talked. "I suppose that's.. typical. I guess the rest of us are.. waiting? I'll admit that the thought of my own survival resting on a bunch of people who didn't ask to be so-called leaders, doesn't put me at ease in the slightest. I'd rather watch out for myself."
Though she didn't think that anyone at all was anything like how they'd been before. Everyone had been changed. And most of them probably were only a shell of what they were. She didn't quite know how she'd describe herself in that moment. If she ever just thought of herself as one thing and one thing only, then hopefully some day someone would point that out to her. She knew how lucky she was to have her partner on hand though. "Good idea," she agreed, staring out at the ocean for a moment. "Let's hope." That would be bad. When they did round the corner though, Lucretia thought she heard something and came to a stop.
"Did.. did you hear that?" she asked softly, pointing to where she thought she heard the noise coming from.
