Lucretia just happened to be at Liberty Island because she was dropping off some coats to some people that wanted them. Getting to Liberty Island was a bit of a pain, but she'd managed with one of the boats. Getting anywhere was a huge pain in the arse, to be quite honest. This was the last time that she was ever making the trip all the way down there. She'd gone with Bennett, and once they'd dropped off the coats, they'd decided to stay for a bit. That was just fine with her, she didn't see any point in rushing back across the nearly frozen waters. The things she did for people, considering that she wasn't immune. Some say she didn't have a heart, and yet there she was, giving out coats because she'd gone to find one herself.
She wasn't quite sure about the whole Brennan thing, she'd met him and he was grumpy and surly but then she kind of liked that in a person. Cheerful got on her nerves beyond belief. Bennett was as cheerful as she could stand, and really she was quite sure that he put on a front for her. Still, he hadn't annoyed her to the point of wanting to shoot him in the face, and that was always a good thing. When he invited her along one on of his patrols, she'd said yes. It wasn't her first time on patrol, but she hadn't ever done it here. That was for certain. And yes, she probably would be an infinitely better shot with a gun. Lucretia had trained with many different types in her MI-5 training.
After making sure that Bennett would wait for her, and that she was going to be just fine (that last part took a bit of cajoling) she headed out to find Brennan so that they could go on this patrol. Well here went nothing. "Yeah, all ready," she called out as she slid her guns back into her holsters and then went to catch up with him. She also had a knife, and a baton strapped across her back. One never knew when they were going to come up with something in the water, or what have you. With her coat firmly around her, she gave a nod and started with him out on the patrol.
"How long have you been doing this? The patrolling, I mean," she asked.
