To tell or not to tell. That question continued to eat away at her. As far as coming to a decision, Leah felt like she was already trapped in one of someone else’s choosing, although if it had been anyone else in her shoes, she would’ve been able to realize that that certainly wasn’t the case. Not really, anyway. Only a handful of people knew so far, and none of them had helped her get any closer to a decision one way or the other. She sat curled up with her feet in the recliner, chewing on the end of one of her fingers and staring at nothing in particular. Today had been one of those lightheaded days, but she had managed to go for a short walk with Marigold to the playground. Now Marigold was spending a few hours with Lilah. Her twin had basically spazzed when Leah told her the news the day before, but it lasted only a few minutes until that excited bubble was burst. All the Stones knew. Half the family knew. Now came the part where Leah had to tell the other half of the family, starting with Evan. A number of different scenarios played out in her head as she waited for him to return home. All of them bad. All of them ending in him leaving her. |
