WHO: Leah and Evan
WHAT: A surprise... gone bad.
WHERE: The wall between guard towers 4 and 5.
WHEN: 08/29, evening.
RATING: Medium for language-ness?
Looting had been relatively successful. He'd filled up about four boxes with non-perishables to put in storage and gotten so many things for Kori in the seamstress shop, and some clothes for himself and for Leah and Marigold, as well as the yoga supplies Leah had asked him for. With everything he needed to get done, he slipped away from the group and to an art store that he'd seen on the east side of town and gathered himself basically anything he could get his hands on and fit onto the dolly he'd brought with him. As well as a few special grade acryllics for his plans that night. When they got back, he quickly helped disperse the things they'd gathered to the right places, and then taken his dolly of paints back to the wall he'd designated as the meeting place for he and Leah, stopping to gather a ladder from the maintenance area as well. And then, he set to work. It was quick work, painting the mural, because the concept had been in his mind for days. From when Leah had surprised him with their date, really. It took him about four hours to complete, which gave him an hour and a half to prepare the rest of what he'd had planned for the evening. It was a bit late for dinner; he'd told her to eat before she came. But he did gather a radio from the supply room and three strings of Christmas lights to hang from surrounding trees, as well as a couple normal lanterns, so they had a little more light. With the setup finished, Evan stood back and admired his handiwork, a little smile on his face. If this wasn't romantic, he didn't know what was. Now, though, there was just one integral part missing. He patted his back pocket to make sure the most important part of the evening was still there, then pressed play on the album he'd brought along, and then climbed quickly into one of the nearby trees to await Leah's arrival. |
