Ben's attention shifted to the right when a new voice entered the room. His lips had parted to explain that it was probably unlikely, that it took a pretty sufficient amount of force to break a nose, and that he had probably just earned a decent punch, but at the sight of the guy's blood-caked face he abruptly closed that mouth of his.
His nose was clearly broken, aligned poorly enough that he knew it was going to hurt like a bitch to set it back. Back in the day, he had often wondered how emergency room doctors didn't react more dramatically to some of the cases that came in. Any normal person would have grimaced at the sight, he was sure, but if the zombie apocalypse was good for one thing, it was desensitizing you. There wasn't much he hadn't seen, and while it was true that some of it still got to him, his skin was an awful lot thicker these days.
"I think you might be right," he replied, offering him a small smile. "We've got two options here. I can reset that for you, or you can do it yourself- I can talk you through it. Just depends on what you're comfortable with." He shrugged his shoulders. Some people were a little touchy these days. Trust issues ran pretty damn rampant. He could understand that. Situations like these tended to bring out the worst in people long before the brought out the best. "Whatever you decide, though, you'd best sit down. It's not going to feel great."
