"It may not matter for practical purposes, but it's still one of those things I'd like to learn, you know? Maybe I'll look for a book or two while I'm here." And maybe a couple of books for Danny and George. Maybe he could make George hate him less for a day or two. That was a nice thought.
A small part of him wondered exactly what China was like now. They had more people than the US did, so by that standard, they must have had more zombies. Suddenly, he regretted never having gone to China with Olivia when they talked about it.
"I'm going to sound like an uneducated buffoon but I don't even know what that is," he mused awkwardly, chuckling a bit in spite of the awkwardness. That was one thing he learned to do over time, deal with awkwardness because it happened whether you liked it or not. Doubly so when talking about something you legitimately had no clue about. "Educate me a little bit?"
That was where he differed from others, he supposed. His willingness to learn.
He watched as she relaxed along with him, smiling a little bit to himself. It had been a long, long time since he'd seen someone relaxed around him. Lately, not even Danny was relaxed around him, and he figured that had something to do with his run-in… or run-out he supposed. He'd thought, for the longest time, that he just… intimidated people. He was glad that there were some that he didn't.
"It's one of the smaller safehouses," he mused arbitrarily. "Safer? Have you noticed?"
He'd been considering moving his family on for a little while now. The Library might be a good place. George and Danny would never run out of things to do here, and surely Danny could get his friend Gabriel to go with them.
