Walls back in place George quirked an eyebrow at him a smirk tugging at her lips. “Well that’s better than nothing I guess.” Slipping her hands into her pockets she watched him for a moment before letting her gaze turn to the people that had finally decided they weren’t worth watching anymore. Good she wasn’t a soap opera to enjoy just because there was nothing better on TV.
She waved a hand as he started apologizing. “Don’t worry about it. I stay off the potential targets list and I won’t hold it against you.” Which was entirely different from forgiving him but he probably knew that already. If he was quick enough to figure out the personal value of the necklace he could pick up on what she didn’t say too.
Shifting her weight from one foot to the other George tilted her head at him. “Now that that’s over with, do you have a name or should I refer to you with variations of thief?” Normally she wouldn’t even care. Normally she would have walked away but then he’d dropped himself into this situation and she was bored and so far he seemed somewhat interesting when she wasn’t tackling him to the floor. Couldn’t hurt to at least get his name. “I’m George if that’s any incentive.”
