And there it was. It was odd enough to say, because well, he was a thief, but he was honestly grateful for the angry reaction that he heard coming from behind him. It was no fun stealing if when you got caught no one cared, and since his "five-finger-discount bug" but him again, that was all that seemed to happen. He'd had people just offer him their things and he'd had people not care one way or another if he snagged anything… if this went bad, it was getting to the point that he'd have considered breaking in somewhere more… more… he didn't know exactly what, but more fun than this, for sure.
So, he was glad to be called on his shit. What he wasn't glad for, however, was the fist in the eye. "Jesus Christ what the hell!" he snapped, bringing his hand up to touch his eye. Yeah, he was completely aware that he was in the wrong here, but . He narrowed his eyes at the girl and pulled the pendant dangling from his hand back up into it, crossing his arms over his chest.
"See, there were two ways you could have done that. You could have asked me nicely, said please, and I would have eagerly given you the necklace back. But now?" he made a bit of a petulant face at her. "I'm not giving it back to you until you ask nicely."
