Hello everyone! We said we would do this, but never got around to doing it.

But before that, a few reminders for everyone:
- The New Years Presents Exchange is still looking for sign-ups! :) Sign-ups will end November 30th, so get yourself in that! It'll be lots of fun.
- Thanksgiving is this coming Thursday for all American students. American students are free to take Thursday and Friday off of school to visit family! Whether or not classes will still be held depends on the teacher! Most teachers will call classes off as well, but Higher Science I & II and Herbology & Potions will still be held! So check your schedules and see if your character has class. :) (Looks like everyone has Potions on either Thursday or Friday, sucks to be everyone, I guess.)

And now, for the part you've been waiting for...

Plot posts are so players can comment with quirky plots they'd like played out (ex: Arion accidentally sneezed and turned seahorse in the middle of the quad, oh noes!) but don't have a particular person to thread with. This would be where other players can pick up on the plot and perhaps have a place to plan it as well (for those of us who are AIM!shy, like Mei.) This is also the place to go if you're just itching for a thread and you don't really have anything in mind!

Comment here with your idea or just a shout-out for general threading action. It can be as detailed or as general as you want! Similarly, if you see something you're interested in or a character you haven't had a chance to play with, please do respond to them!

The posting formats have separated from the Rules & FAQs page! The reason behind this is that the mods would like to introduce instant messaging to the RP.

Thank you to those of you who responded to the survey! (Except the one that Mei had to force...) If you haven't already, we ask that you please do, because your opinions are important to us. And please don't hesitate to email/IM one or both of the mods with any questions, plot suggestions, concerns, etc. that you may have. (There is always the drop box as well! That does allow anonymous comments, if you feel the need to remain anonymous.) We love you all, we love knowing what you think, and we seriously don't bite.

A few things that you guys suggested that we are implementing and/or would like further opinions on:
- Rewards for activity? The mods like this idea, but we are unsure as to what we would reward. If you have anything you'd like, feel free to let us know.

- Looking-For-Plot posts! We are considering posting bi-weekly and/or monthly Plot posts in the OOC community where players can comment with quirky plots they'd like played out (ex: Arion accidentally sneezed and turned seahorse in the middle of the quad, oh noes!) but don't have a particular person to thread with. Where other players can pick up on the plot and perhaps have a place to plan it as well (for those of us who are AIM!shy, like Mei.)

- Plot ideas! The mods would like to include the characters more one-on-one in our plots. We will contact you individually when we come up with something that might fit your characters, but we encourage you to come to us if you have anything that you think might be fun.

- EDIT: Someone made the suggestion of having teachers playable as well. The mods are considering this, and would very much like your opinion. We were thinking of either having an Idris University (either a separate campus altogether on another side of the town, or adding 4 more years to the original Idris plan so you guys could play older characters) or having adults playable (people who live in town, maybe teachers, people who have stayed behind in the town after graduating, or adults who have graduated but are still keeping in touch and visiting.) Opinions? Would you like to play either, do you have anything against either idea. New ideas are always welcomed!

Speaking of plots... the mods are working on one right now! :) It should be out in about a day, so keep your eyes peeled for that!

Last call for scene lottery sign ups and for anyone interested! Sign ups will close Wednesday night, and results will hopefully come out this weekend, along with new plots!

The school play's final list is now up. For simplicity's sake, we'll pretend that it was this way all along. Or at least since Tory left.

Thursday morning, the Newspaper article regarding the bombing came out!

1. Please remember to complete all of your threads (and tag it with !complete if it is finished!) Incomplete threads do not count toward activity checks, so if you do have a lot of incomplete threads, please try your best to get them completed!

2. Activity checks will happen this weekend! One complete thread/journal a week is our requirement. If you're having trouble meeting that, please come and talk to one of the mods.

3. If the threads are seriously backdated and you don't wish to complete them, let th e mods know so we can remove the posts.

4. Please run the friend add button if you haven't already!

5. The talent show is this Friday. If you haven't already, feel free to drop a comment here to sign your character up.

6. The Mathey/Rakiah Blitzball game will be held September 11th, which is coming up, so feel free to have your character react to this bit of information however you see fit. More information will be coming about that game.

7. A bit in advance, but two birthdays are next Monday the 7th: Anastasiya Wojciechowski and Owen Price!

Em again.

I wanted to let everyone know a piece of plotting that has been done, and acted out previously (though the threads have yet to be completed). Deke was pretty broken up over Julian and we all know he's manic-depressive, right? Well, after this fight with Cora and Lina, he went back to his room and becan working on his runic magic. Dick (as soon as I hear back from Danielle) found his roommate all bloody and laying on the floor.

Deke will have spent the last week in the hospital recovering and verifying that he is okay. So he would have been missing from class, and though Dick knows it must have been one of Deke's experiments gone wrong, no one except maybe a few nurses and teachers would know it was a suicide attempt.

Therefore, let the rumors fly! Was he attacked, like Julian? How badly did his little 'experiment' really go? Where the hell is D2?

Hello lively folk of Idris!

A few friendly reminders.

1. Run the friend add button here if you haven't already done so. We have plenty of shiny new characters! Welcome all to the game!

2. In lieu of the people who have left school for various reasons, there has been a change in the cast list. For IC purposes, just assume that the same cast list put up has now miraculously changed to include the new faces. Feel free to have your characters react to them appropriately. :)

3. Much ♥ to all of you for being such an enthusiastic bunch!

1. The new Head Boy has been announced today to be Salvatore Agliardi! And Coralenka Markovic has taken up a Senator spot.

2. If there is still a position that you would want that isn't held, feel free to let the mods know.

3. Go comment on this post if you would like to continue/be added in the Romeo & Juliet play!

4. Please hit the Friend All button as we have many new additions to the RP. As well as make sure you have responded to all the new character intros!

5. Founders Day Weekend starts Friday afternoon. So feel free to include parents and family members in on threading! Even if your character would not invite his/her parents, parents will be notified by the school. That means even if they don't want their parents there? If the parents want to go, they're going to be there. Get ready for some slightly disgruntled students?

A new plotline has been put into action. You can read all about it here. For those of you too lazy to skim the very short article, here is a brief run-down of what has happened:

Julian Prescot was found dead midnight today (That would be Thursday). He was seen earlier being screamed at by a very disgruntled Maverick Jason Kendall. Later, Jason was seen in town getting into a fight with a Faie who has yet been identified. Jason is currently missing, nobody knows where he is. The outside world has reacted violently. Therian and Faie are currently putting blame on each other and the Magical Governance has been trying to keep things from getting out of hand.

The following students either left the school or were pulled out by their parents out of fear that something similar will happen: Dara, Stein, Briony, London, Nira, Bridget. (Let me know if someone is missing from the list!) And Head Boy Mikhail had to leave as well due to the fact that his father just came down with Cancer. (EDIT: Megan has decided to take London back.)

If you were rooming with one of those characters, be sure to check the new roommates list and discuss with your new roommates (if any) plotlines you'd like to have. It is entirely possible for those who didn't interact at all with their roommates to pretend they never had them. (Example being, since Dara never posted anything, I can assume that Viitoria is only on her second roommate and start off any new lines that come her way from when Brooke left.)

That said, we do have a few new openings in school activities. If you see a position you would like to have, feel free to let the mods know and we will add you on the list. Furthermore, we do have an opening for Head Boy. So let us know if your 7th year boy would be fit for that position.

The Romeo&Juliet play is recasting. Please leave a comment here if you would still like to be in that or if you would like to join.

Finally, we would like to discuss the upcoming Founders Day Weekend with all of you. It is an annual event where parents are allowed to come and visit their children. Feel free to put up narratives of what your characters did with their parents or thread with parents and students (or have your character sulk because their parents never showed up.) Parents can arrive Friday evening, where there will be a large banquet on the quad. Saturday night, there will be a fair with a few games, a ferris wheel, and a few really tame rides. Sunday morning there will be a peace service in the town chapel. It will probably be a little depressing, considering the turn of events, but life goes on.

Hello guys!

The previously mentioned mod-driven plot will be started up soon enough! We have a new journal: dailytribune! The Daily Tribune will be the official newspaper of the magical world and articles will be posted on that journal, so keep an eye out!

That said, we've had a lot of new characters, so please remember to update your friends list! It is very simple and takes two seconds to click a button.

Another note we would like to make is that Gossip Girl takes a lot of work and energy, especially since Idris moves so fast. Please take the time from now on to drop any potential rumors, drama, or just funny scenes off at the Gossip Girl Drop Box. It would make life a lot easier for the mods and GG-mun and also would make your Gossip Girl issues come out faster and more efficiently!

Hi guys! Just a few notes and updates!

- It's Lily's birthday today (Monday) so feel free to react or not care about that.

- We unfortunately had to remove two students. Cameron has gone on a trip to Egypt, and Brooke had to rush home to tend to a sickly mother. That said, a senator and Head Girl position are open. Come talk to one of the mods if you'd like to move your character up to one of those positions. Remember that Head Girl is only open to 7th year (girls) and it is preferred that the girl has had other Student Government positions. Though not required.

New update: Brooke is going to officially leave (as far as plotlines go) on Tuesday. There will be a few days of confusion, and the new Head Girl will be named... (dun dun dun...) Viitoria. So Thursday Viitoria will have a nice little entry up. And characters can react to it however they want to.

- The Casino Royale event is coming up this Friday. It will be a school sanctioned (fake) gambling night where students can dress up and have some fun. The event will begin at 8pm and run until midnight. A notice has gone up asking for donations of good quality things and/or services from the students for prizes during this event. Please comment here if you'd like to donate any items. (And example would be: Julian will be 'auctioning off' a date with himself. =P Because the boy is just that cocky. It can also be textbooks, clothing, money, jewelery, anything you can think of.) Comments will be screened so it will be more fun.

You have until Wednesday night (Eastern time) to donate something. An actual slot machine will (hopefully) be up by Wednesday night for you to play, and prizes will be announced Friday when the big event goes up.

We'd just like you to remember to hit the Friend add button, as there have been quite a few new faces around here. (Try not to scare them too much, eh?)

Also, we are sad to report that Michelle has left. Therefore, Landon/Tobias and Tristan will be leaving the school. Things shifted around a little and now Julian is moving in with Jason! Feel free to have your characters react/not care about the news.

A few notes, reminders, etc:

- The "Back to School Bash" is this Friday. We'll put the event thread up once Friday rolls around. Your characters should have heard about it by now though. Notices have gone up. It's an annual party out on the quad from 8pm-midnight. There'll be music and refreshments and pretty lights. Dress would be fairly casual.

- Last chance to sign up for the Scene Lottery for newcomers and veterans alike! Signups will close Thursday afternoon.

- Please remember to tag your threads with the characters involved (first + last name) and !incomplete, !complete, or !event. =) And please remember to tag on an extra !complete once the thread is, in fact, complete.

- The Idris Trivia is still open to all students. Points and questions answered correctly are listed on the post.
- Scene lottery sign ups are still open as well. I'm going to leave them open until Thursday, so if you're interested feel free to sign up!

So, we've been getting feedback from some of our players, and we wanted to see if the rest of you had anything to say. We'd like to start implementing a few more mod-driven plots for anyone who's interested; potentially a chance for some darker, more serious lines. Before we set out to do this, we'd like to know your thoughts on mod-driven plots and if you had any storylines that you felt would be fun to add to Idris. The mods talked about having a newspaper for the magical world where articles would be posted. Is there anything you guys would like to see? Or if you're against mod-driven plots, let us know as well. We're open to opinions!

Also, along that vein of thought, we'd love to hear just general comments from you. How are you feeling about Idris, what do you like, what do you dislike, anything you'd like to change (or stay the same), and any general suggestions, questions, concerns, comments, etc. Feel free to leave them all here.

- If you haven't seen already, a notice was posted for students about the school play here. (And this is Mei having fun: Not entirely work safe...)

- Activity checks will happen this week. If your character hasn't been active, you will be receiving an email from our mods either tomorrow or the day after. Also, if you have a lot of unfinished threads, please take this time to complete them. A reminder: our activity requirements state that you should have at least one thread and one journal entry per week per character (or more than one thread and no journal entry is okay too!) We do rely mainly on threading, so incomplete threads will not count to your activity count

- We are holding another scene lottery! For those of you who were not around for our first, a scene lottery is where all characters that sign up are randomly paired (or tripled; depending on the amount of characters signing up, some characters might end up doing two scenes) and given a completely random (and usually quirky) scene that they can play out.

It will help with character interaction, since some characters might not meet up under normal circumstances. And, for every time your character completes a scene lottery scene (and by complete, we mean that both characters finish writing an entire thread between them!) they earn 10 points towards their house. If you want to sign up just comment here with the characters you'd like to offer for this. Scene lottery scenes will most likely go out the weekend of the 25th =) (Comments are screened for this reason)

- London's birthday is on Thursday the 16th!

Quick update~!

We now have a Gossip Girl! If you haven't watched the show (Mei hasn't, so she needed to have this explained to her...) it's someone who is anonymous but all-knowing. Nobody knows who she is, but she knows who you are. You can find her journal over at xoxo_idris! There's also a nifty little drop box for you to drop gossip and rumors (true or not) for her.

Please go here to pick a pseudonym for your character to be known by.

Please note before dropping any gossip, rumors, and secrets, that you need to make sure the player of the character in question (if they are not yours) is aware of this and okay with it.

This is an entirely new addition to the school. So feel free to have your characters feel confused. They shouldn't have known this was coming!
