Who: Dalila and Stella
What: Dalila and Stella are both given detention and made to clean out the dragon pens.
When: April 5th (Backdated)/ Evening
Where: Dragon Pens
Rating: PG

Stella was in detention, for harassing some girl, what else was new? When the day rolled around for her to serve her time, Stella dutifully made her way down to the dragon pens as she had no desire to truly raise the ire of authority. Plus, she was curious who she had been paired with; she secretly hoped it was someone who squirmed easily, but she knew better than to assume.

And of course, a Mathey. Did Idris hate her? Did the gods look down on her unfortunate personality and aim to spite her through boredom? Stella tucked a bit of hair behind her ear and sighed, folding her arms across her chest.

"Doesn't anyone know I am far too high society for this sort of manual labor?" she said to no one in particular. "Though," she said looking up at Dalila, "I'm sure you have some experience." Stella tugged on her boot and looked up with a smile as the professor approached.

"I think you girls know what to do," he droned while Stella blocked him out almost entirely. She sifted through his mind, as she tended to do without thinking and when she looked up, he was on his way out again. "Well," she said quietly at his back, "way to delegate and run."

Being in detention might be routine for Stella, but it wasn't anything but for Dalila. The worst thing she'd be caught for was talking in class, and then she was generally let off. If the professor was hard-nosed and assigned her detention, it was never as bad as cleaning the dragon pens. She felt entirely out of her depth, and paired with her growing sense of injustice, it was enough to set her on edge. She felt as likely to burst into tears as she was to hit someone. Well, if she was honest, she wasn't going to hit anyone. But she rather thought it would be nice if she could get up the nerve.

So when she walked into the stable and saw Stella, she cursed under her breath. The gods were testing her, it was the only explanation. How could she possibly be expected to clean up dragon shit and deal with razor tongued Stella at the same time? "Are you ever the least bit kind? Or do you have some missing lobe in your brain that won't allow it?" She asked, keeping her tone civil, even if her words were not.

Once the professor entered the pen, she looked around. It was a massive space, and it smelled horrific. It really just was her luck. She was so distracted by the horror of it all that she didn't hear any of what he said. "Wait, what did he say?" She asked Stella, her voice raising in anxiety. Oh, this was wonderful. She didn't know how to properly muck dragon shit!

At Dalila's comment, Stella laughed loudly. "No," she said quickly before adding, "I had a frontal lobotomy when I was five." Didn't Dalila realize that it was just those sort of reactions which spurred on her bad behavior? Clearly not. Stella watched Dalila curiously, wondering how asking for vegetarian options translated to this. She knew that people could likely guess what she had done to earn detention, but from her experience, Mathey's were never very naughty. She was always serving her detention with Zebul or other Rakiah. Well, she had plenty of time to whittle it out of Dalila - perhaps there was something she wasn't telling everyone.

Stella was surprised that Dalila hadn't been listening either, so rather than shrug her shoulders and admit she hadn't paid one bit of attention, she said rather curtly. "I think it was something about you being a dirty Therian and that you should have to do it by yourself." Stella turned away from Dalila to fetch her shovel, but in reality it was simply a wide to hide her the smirk playing on her lips.

Pulling on the gloves she had stashed in her pocket, Stella frowned. "But no really, what are we supposed to do with all this literal shit?"

Dalila ignored Stella's quip about her lobotomy, she should have known better than to try and clash wits with the younger girl. She would never win. The best way to get through this was to knuckle down and get to work. The less she spoke to Stella, the better. Besides, she could most likely finish her portion before Stella was even close to a fifth through. She set about looking for a shovel but snapped her neck back towards Stella at her secondary comment. "That is not what he said, you, you terrible girl!" She exclaimed, clenching her fist in anger. What gave her the right to say such things? As if it wasn't hard enough living with a Headmistress who was blatantly pro-Faie, now Stella was going to start?

"I could care less what you do with it," she said icily, forcing herself to calm down. It wouldn't do to morph and end up biting the stupid girl. Stella would probably see that she was put down. "Just get to work."

Stella pretended to be shocked, but it was hard to hide the blatant smile on her face. "It is! I swear, girl scouts honor." Stella held up two fingers, then thought maybe it was three, before finally ditching the finger routine all together as that was possibly boy scouts. After a long moment of staring at Dalila, she added rather nonchalantly, "Oh, maybe he didn't. Maybe I just confused it with what he was thinking." Stella shrugged her shoulders, taking for granted the fact that Dalila would know about her power.

At Dalila's order, Stella scoffed. "You're so naive, it's kind of cute." Stella leaned up against her shovel. "I did catch this much, this all has to be cleaned up or neither of us is leaving." Stella inspected her gloves as someone would a manicure. "And I don't think with you hurting my feelings like this, if I'll even be able to work at all." Stella sighed very loudly and continued to lean on her shovel, trying to make it very clear that if Dalila didn't play along, Stella would easily make this hell for the both of them.

Kicking a bit of excrement with her foot, Stella looked up, "What do they do with the dragons when their pens are being cleaned?" It was an honest question, but Lila would likely suspect some ulterior motive behind it, thanks to Stella's reputation.

As if any type of scouts would let Stella join their ranks! She would have the entire troop disbanded in two weeks, tops. No organized group could withstand Stella's evil powers, especially if she was on the inside. "Or maybe," Dalila started brightly, tilting her head to the side with a large, fake grin on her face. "You are so full of shit that it's begun to impair your hearing." She ended, the smile falling off her face.

"Well, in that case, I will do my part of the work, and then sit and watch you finish," she said, turning her back on the younger girl and burying her shovel in one of the large piles of dragon waste. "Hopefully it won't take you long, but my schedule is clear." Dalila wasn't in the mood to play along, and she wasn't about to allow yet another injustice to be added to the pile. "Plus I think I would enjoy watching you shovel dragon leavings."

It was a valid question. "Probably dragon racing practice?" She answered the question, her voice dropping into a questioning tone against herself.

"Sorry honey, sarcasm doesn't really work on you. I recommend a more primitive way of speaking. Grunting should suit your intellect level, I think." Stella gave Dalila a smile and then turned back to her side of the muck. She was putting up such a fit about not doing it, she contemplated if she would be able to start at all.

Stella laughed loudly, a real belly laugh at Dalila's words. "You think your schedule is free? Well, okay." Stella eyed a bucket not so far away that she could sit on to really put a stamp on her subordination. Unfortunately, she hadn't actually planned on not doing her share of the work and the more of a show she put on the more it would look as if she had finally bent to Dalila's will. Stella Fortina bent to no ones will, that much needed to be clear, so she thought better than to conduct a sit in.

"Oh," she said, the thought never having occurred to her. "Probably." Stella pulled her shovel out of the ground a bit and her nose twitched uncomfortably. "I really don't mind this, your memories are sweet like an ABC-Family rerun." Stella started at the opening of the pen, cleaning a small portion at a time and flinging it into the cart that had been provided to them.
