Who: Fernando and Judicaël
What: Flower picking!
When: Thursday afternoon
Where: Around!
Rating: PG for flirting

Judicaël loved it when the flowers started to bloom in full-force around Idris. They seemed to shoot up from nowhere and cover the green carpet of grass in so many colors it was almost blinding. Which meant that he was happier than ever as he nearly skipped out of his dorm with a basket on his arm (handwoven by Judicaël out of leather strips). He tried to weave at least one hat a year and there was nothing like a hat made of flowers. Naturally, it wouldn't last long. But with the right spell, he could make it last just as long as he needed. And it would even smell good the whole time!

The biggest impediment to his search was his unwillingness to kneel in the grass. One did not simply kneel while wearing a pair of side-laced white leather pants, a pink fishnet shirt over a flannel sports bra and a yellow boa. Getting grass stains on that would be an absolute disaster.

And then he spotted the solution to his problem. "Nando!" he exclaimed when he spotted his friend, arms swung wide and eyes bright behind his nearly neon-pink, invisible frame, sunglasses. "Mon amour, mon ami!" He plopped down beside the other on the bench, careful not to sit on the cornchips on their bag. "What a beautiful day, no?" Leaning forward, he brushed air kisses above each of his friend's cheekbones.

Fernando had managed to procure his favorite corn chip snack and since the the day young yet, he made his way outside and promptly found himself a seat on a bench. Pulling open the chip bag, Fernando set it aside gently, but only after pulling out a small handful. He ate each one individually, enjoying them to their fullest extent. Eventually, however, the supply was getting low and to extend his entertainment, Fernando touched his hand to the bag and it jumped to life and sprouted legs, the remaining chips rustling around inside.

Distracted by the dancing of his little bag, Fernando didn't even notice Jude approaching him until he heard his name. Looking up instantly, a large grin spread across his face at the sight of Jude. He barely noticed the other boys outfit, his attention only stopping on the boa for a brief moment. "It is," he chimed, tilting his head just slightly to accept the greeting.

"What are you doing outside?" Fernando asked haphazardly. It didn't particularly matter, as Fernando assumed everyone was like him and traveled here and there with no real cause or destination. "Nice boa," he added playfully, taking the end and fluffing it in Jude's face a bit.

"I'm gathering flowers!" he flourished the handwoven bag, grinning ear to ear as he scooted a bit closer on the bench, flinging an arm around the other teen. He glanced at the dancing corn chip bag and ignored it, as he was rather used to that type of thing.

"Would you like to help me? It's hard to kneel in leather," he beamed at the other, looking Fernando up and down carefully. "But your fit is sublime; you would give me quite the view if you were willing to help. and I would gladly make a hat for you as well, if you'd like!" He flipped the boa a little, brushing it on the other's cheek. "Or a flower boa!"

Looking from the empty basket, Fernando surveyed the land around them. Before being asked, his first instinct was to offer his help in gathering said flowers, as it seemed Jude was a bit behind in the collecting. His smile twitched at the corner when Jude slung his arm around him and he settled comfortably against the other boy. He didn't fail to notice Jude's look toward his little creation and flushed with embarrassment. Placing his hand over it with a quiet crunch, he wished he had Marcelo's power to silence things for once.

"Of course I would," he said instantly, only just then inspecting Jude's pants. Hmm. It did seem it would be hard to kneel in leather. Fernando was still in his uniform, though his tie had been misplaced and his shirt fallen open somewhat. Acting a bit bashful at the compliment, Fernando shivered as the boa touched his cheek. "What sort of hat?" He gently reached up and took Jude's glasses off and put them on himself. "I think a bowler hat might suit these glasses."

"Bonne chance!" Judicaël exclaimed, hugging Fernando around the neck gladly, keeping it short of strangulation even from overenthusiasm. "What wonderful luck! Your help shall be what my fashion needs, exactly!" Twirling the boa on his fingers, he contemplated the sunglasses on the other and nodded approvingly.

"I was considering a bowler hat. Or perhaps a tiny top hat, to perch on the side of my head. Maybe a bonnet. Flowers tied at the base of my neck, just under my chin. The smell would make the world all the more wonderful!" He leapt to his feet, turning and wrapping the boa around Fernando to help tug him to his feet.

"For you, I believe a boa would be the best! Or perhaps a tie of flowers, so that class can smell as sweet as a rose!"

Fernando didn't really have a clue what Jude was saying to him, but from the other boys reaction, he assumed it was something positive. Hugging back for a moment, Fernando laughed quietly at the thought of crafting any sort of fashion. That was Marcelo's area of expertise, not his own. He barely could care for the clothes he owned, let alone make some.

Pushing the sunglasses onto his head as if they were a headband, Fernando stared at Jude's head to try to picture a little tiny top hat. "Only if it were precarious," he added. Stuffing the last bit of chips into his mouth and forcing the bag into his pocket, Fernando all but giggled when Jude pulled him up. He never had so much fun as with this one.

"I do think it would become me," he said thoughtfully, playfully. "Isn't picking flowers what my Mexican counterpart would do? Should I address you only in Spanish, or just broken English?"

"Of course it must create then illusion of precarious!" he laughed. "But that is what a hairpin is for. To make the impossible possible and yet still look to be impossible. It is the most wonderful trait an actor can learn!" He reached over, adjusting the boa around Fernando's neck so both ends fell down his back.

"Or perhaps you must dress as a girl from the prairie!" With a twirl, he started to look around. "I believe the most color is near the library. I've been searching for the proper patch of flowers and I saw some there." Pointing towards the building, he grinned wider. "To the library!"

Smoothing his hands over his blazer, Fernando shook his head and took a loud, deep breath before exhaling dramatically. "I honestly don't think an A-line would work on me." A smile tugged at his playfully sullen expression and he figured that Jude barely heard him in the all the excitement of flowers near the library.

Sticking out his arm to escort his friend, Fernando added, "To the library!" As they moved, Fernando was overcome with what he considered his most brilliant idea to date. In fact, he thought it so brilliant it stopped him in his tracks. "I have it," he said grandly, "I will turn your hat alive and it will be the most precarious hat ever imagined."

Fernando found he was never quite as dramatic, or at least showy than with Jude. But it did seem to fit, and it came rather naturally, so he hardly questioned it. With his scheme announced, Fernando started off again, intent on picking only the loveliest of flowers.

"A living hat of flowers?" Judicaël's face lit up at the idea, beyond even his typical exuberance. "That would be perfect! The most perfect! Bonne chance, mon ami!" He laughed, big and loud and filling the air around him like there was audience listening.

It was already forming in his mind: a top hat with arms and legs, clinging to his hair and playing on his shoulder. "It shall be pink and blue!" he exclaimed, punctuation the declaration with a cartwheel that should likely have been impossible in leather pants.

"This is the most perfect idea! The most perfect hat! And it shall perfume the classrooms of this great hall of learning." Not that he cared about the learning all that much. At least perfume was good.

Fernando had to admit his surprise at Jude's response to his suggestion. The laughter was anticipated, but a cartwheel seemed a bit over the top. Really, the idea was grand, but it wasn't particularly stunning, considering his power. He was, however, quite pleased with Jude's excitement and it set a gigantic smile on his face which would have been difficult to wipe off.

Shaking his head with his giant smile still plastered on, Fernando started off again, keeping his eyes peeled for flowers of pink and blue. A bit earlier than he expected, a small grouping of rather petite blue ones came into his view and without a moments notice he bounced over to them. Bending at the waist to pluck them, he swiveled a bit to look at Jude with something of wry smile on his mouth. "Are these suitable?" Feeling a strain in the back of his legs, Fernando finally relented and dropped to one knee, his hand becoming full with the small flowers.

Judicaël had to admit that he was in an especially good mood, having found Fernando rather than having to kneel in the grass in his far too stainable pants. Which explained the grin that nearly matched his friend's as he pranced along the street.

And then he exclaimed when the flowers were pointed out, clapping his hand again. "Those are quite beautiful, mon ami!" Beaming, he quickly made his way to the other's side. "Those are the perfect flowers, quite delicate! You have the proper eye for flowers."

"Who would have known," Fernando said merrily, finding an appropriate place for him to sit down so he could pluck them from the roots. The bundle in his hand was growing quite large but Jude had not given him an indication that he needed to stop any time soon so he continued to pluck the little flowers until he couldn't hold them in his large hands any longer.

He looked up at his friend expectantly and then his expression turned quizzical. "How do you intend to make these, exactly? I mean, do you need a structure or something?" Fernando did not make a name for himself for being intelligent or thoughtful, but occasionally his brain did him a solid and he was able to get his act together.

"Where are we going to weave them? I bet Marcelo would be interested," he pondered thoughtfully, not realizing that the most important men in his life didn't necessarily mesh as well as he would have liked.

"Ah, place those within my bag!" he held out the satchel he'd brought with, offering it to Fernando with a flourish. "I will save there to keep them fresh! It is ensorcelled to to protect their beauty until I may weave them."

The suggestion of structure made him laugh. "The strength in their stems allows them to take on great shapes. Any support needed may be provided by extra grass. Some types are quite strong. They make some quite amazing chairs of wicker, which is nothing but a plant itself!"

"Marcelo, yes?" Judicaël barely paused before he nodded, knowing the important of his twin in his best friend's life. "Yes, we may speak to him! He is quite good at creating plans to be followed for specific realism."

Fernando's eyes grew wide at the thought of Jude's power. He personally had no concept of what Jude was entirely capable of and he was shocked daily by what he learned. Dutifully putting the flowers in the satchel before him, Fernando began pushing himself up off the ground but his balance betrayed him. Falling back onto his bum, Fernando blushed, entirely embarrassed. Pouting a little, Fernando pushed himself up once more and pointedly did not turn is gaze toward Jude. Instead, he inspected the bottom of his pants. "Oh my. Marcelo will have such a time getting that out," he said as he brushed the dirt off.

"Well, isn't it wrapped around wood?" He said, his voice itself almost sounding like an echo. Fernando was not one to challenge the established authority, but his mind did tend to wander at times. "I don't know," he added. "You're the expert." Fernando nibbled on his lip a bit before looking around for some more flowers.

When Jude approved of the consult with Marcelo, Fernando beamed. "Well he sometimes takes to sewing his own clothing just like you. Well," he rubbed Jude's mesh shirt between his fingers playfully, "not quite like you."

"Getting rid of dirt is nothing!" Judicaël laughed as he reached out, perfectly willing to make an act of 'brushing' the dirt off him, although it was much closer to tracing the curve of his ass than anything else. And he was smiling even brighter than before, if that was entirely possible.

"Not the majority, no. Do not worry!" he laughed. "It is only a hat. And I am a warlock, am I not? If a warlock cannot make clothing be as he wants it to be, who may?" Really, that was what he loved most about being a warlock, sometimes. He could do amazing things with his clothing, things that defied reality.

Grinning, he cocked his head to the side and tried to picture Marcelo in one of his outfits. "No, he does not do as I do. But he does exercise his own point of view."

Fernando nibbled his lower lip as Jude brushed him off, squelching the giggle which bubbled up in his belly. Fernando couldn't deny his attraction to Jude and their playful flirtations made it hard for him to distinguish between his feelings. As a rule of thumb, Fernando just reminded himself that they were only friends and that would be the end of it.

"I suppose you would know a lot better than I would." Fernando shot his friend a bright smile to show that he was absolutely on board. "I will just have to leave all the weaving up to you, but once it's done I'll do what I can." He paused for a minute. "A live boa is pretty much a snake. That's kind of sexy." And by sexy he meant interesting.

Fernando was still smiling at the thought of his brother when he looked up at Jude. "He always sews my buttons back on. That is when he isn't doing our homework and our laundry." Fernando hadn't said it outloud before and for a moment felt guilty for leaving Marcelo all the chores, but he quickly rid himself this thought. "Where do you think we can find pink flowers, botón?"

"A flowering boa that lives like a snake?" Jude considered that, tapping his chin and leaning back a little. He was rather pleased with the pose and leaned back a little to enhance it. It was nice as he stretched an arm over his head, thoughts of the living boa gone for at least a moment.

"The light here is gorgeous," he murmured, tilting his head a little to catch more of the light on his face. "This dome is the most wonderful thing! I wish I could put more shows here, to show off the glory of magic."

He laughed at that, waving his hand over the other's ass again. "Pink? I saw a few. I think they were closest to the library!" he exclaimed. "Let us go!"

Fernando watched Jude curiously as he moved, tucking a long bit of hair behind his ear. Jude was really something else. He inspired Fernando to be even crazier than usual, which seemed impossible at times.

Waiting for Jude to fall back to Earth, Fernando bent at the waist again and plucked several more flowers for himself, tucking them into his pocket to bring back to his room. Oh, wouldn't Marcelo be surprised to see Fernando pull something out of his pocket which hadn't been brought to life.

Without thinking, Fernando moved into Jude's hand in response, flushing a bit in his cheeks before starting off towards the library. "I also like green, but that is mostly leaves, hmm?" He said, twisting his head to look for Jude. For whatever, nothing intellectual came out of Fernando's mouth when he was with Jude, but he found it was easier that way. "Do you have a show coming up? I haven't been in a while."

Brought back to Earth, at least mostly, Jude grinned when he felt his friend's body respond to his touch. There was nothing like that sensation and he felt it through his body, a little twitch that turned into a twirl that turned into a pirouette. "Leaves are welcome with flowers! They shall create the effect of growing ivy," he laughed eagerly, holding his arm out for the other.

"I do indeed have a show, although I shall not be in the spotlight," he pouted. "My père asked me to assist in a show at home. So I shall be going back to France and to Paris to perform as a chorus!" He paused, mid-step, and grinned.

"You shall come! And you shall stay in my house! I can show you the world through its proper eyes," he laughed eagerly, kissing each of Nando's cheeks again in his excitement. "My mother shall be glad to see my dashing Nando again!"

Linking his arm with Jude's, Fernando grinned. It was great having a friend by his side. However, at Jude's pouting, a gloom fell over the both of them. It was rather upsetting that his Jude wouldn't be the star, and he thought it would likely be a rather boring show for him to attend. Not only did he not speak French, but he would only get to watch Jude sing. Which, while pleasurable, wasn't going to keep his attention for an entire show.

Anticipating the dual kiss, Fernando pecked back, grinning. "You flatter me," he said wryly, pulling Jude close to him by their linked arms. "But yes, I am thrilled. Can we go out? I'd like to go out after the show, if you can. Can you?"

Jude laughed excitedly. "To flatter you would take much more than anything I can say! You are worth more than these pitiful words, mon ami. You are worth a song, a dance and an entire act!" The arm not linked with Fernando's waved dramatically, stretching to full length and curving through the air as he exclaimed, "Perhaps more, if that is possible!"

"For certain, I shall go with you. The cast party is not until after the show you shall attend. We shall see the city. Not the tourist city but the real city, the real place of my home."

Fernando tried to anticipate when Jude would break into his little show stopping numbers, but it always genuinely surprise him at what would set him off. "Jude," he said softly, "you always flatter me," and planted a very decisive kiss on his friends cheek. He didn't need a song or a show, he just needed the constant attention and ego fluffing which Jude was so good for.

"Oh good!" Fernando delighted. "I shall eat where you eat and I want to go dancing too!" Fernando swung his hips around to bring the point home about dancing. It had been a while since he'd danced with boys, certainly. As the library came closer, Fernando saw the flowers which Jude was talking about and he loosed his grip on his friend to pluck the delicate pink flowers from their roots. "Oh," he said softly, "these ones are nearly orange. The contrast will be great, I think." Fernando smiled up at Jude, expecting his support.

Jude laughed again, turning to kiss Fernando's cheek in return and pull him closer, just for a moment. He liked the feeling of being close to his friend, the feel of another body against his own comfortable and natural as anything. But he was a physical person and touch was sometimes the only thing that reminded him the world was real, not an elaborate play he was staging... not that he would have minded if the second part was true.

"Dancing? Oh, we shall go dancing! I know a beautiful place with many beautiful men, though none as beautiful as us, and we shall dance until dawn and to dusk again!" Another flourish with his free arm before he noticed the flowers Nando was picking. "Ah! That color! It is even more wonderful than I remembered!"

Fernando purred quietly at the mention of beautiful men. Would they perhaps be going to a gay club? Fernando was tempted to mention that he had never been to one, but it seemed that Jude was quite the expert and Fernando was not one to embarrass himself if it was at all possible. "What-," he started before realizing it would give him away. "I might not be able to get in," he announced a bit sadly, realizing a bit late that he wasn't as old as Jude, though not by too much.

Fully releasing himself from Jude, Fernando knelt in the grass and gently picked the flowers at the ground, trying to preserve as much as stem as possible. Unfortunately, one of the flowers he plucked drooped within a moment of plucking it. Without thinking, Fernando innervated it with his energy and the small flower sprung to life. Two eyes sprouted in the center and Fernando giggled merrily. It was always a delight to create something. Reaching up, Fernando handed the flower to Jude before continuing picking. "Will this be suitable with the blue?" he asked, his voice very offhand.

"Worry not!" Jude laughed. "We shall find a place you may go into, for certain. You look of the right age and the right beauty. How could be refused?" At least he was fairly certain Nando could find his way into one of the possible clubs he knew about. There were plenty of places and there was always sneaking in the back or even just partying it up in a mere regular club rather than the gay club he'd had in mind. "We shall simply have to find a way in without ID!"

The moment the living flower was in his hand, he squealed excitedly. "What a beautiful creation! You have such an eye for the grace of life." He traced one finger along the petals and smiled wider. "How lovely. You shall come to my home, not to meet with Marcelo at all."

Glancing at the color, he nodded eagerly. "It shall be wonderful! Perhaps some ivy as well, to add a touch of green and beautiful life."
