Who: Dalila and Eveline
What: Dalila stops by Rose's room to see if she's in, but runs into Eve instead.
When: Tuesday Evening
Where: Eveline's room
Rating: SFW

After finishing dinner and sitting in the Library for an hour or so working on her homework, Dalila realized something. She was really rather very bored. The day had been perfectly normal - and perfectly uneventful - just like the day before it. And the day before that. It was time to do something other than school and work. After a moments thought, she ruled out Harrison and Tyler. She was starting to think she spent too much time with boys. No, what she wanted was a nice little girly chat. So, Rose it would be. It seemed like it had been a while since she'd seen her twin anyways, and a nice talk would be just the thing to entertain herself.

After dropping her things back off in her room, Dalila set out to Rose's room. Once she was in front of the door, she tried the knob, and finding it unlocked, swung the door open. Since Anya had left, Rose was rooming alone for the time being, so she thought nothing of simply walking in and flinging herself on the nearest bed. Rose didn't appear to be in at the moment, which was too bad. Although it did seem strange that she would leave her door unlocked while she was out. She shrugged it off and decided she'd just wait around a bit for her to get in, she had come all this way after all.

Eveline, despite the upset with Gryffyn, had decided that it would be an early night and after eating dinner, she retired to her room, somewhat surprised to find it empty. She had been happy to be placed with Rose, but for a reason she couldn't pinpoint, she always imagined that Rose was something of a homebody and would be about a lot. Finding that assumption to be wrong, Eveline shrugged her shoulders and slipped into her pajamas, not wasting any time to become comfortable.

Leaving the door unlocked for Rose, should the other girl return, Eveline popped into the bathroom to brush her teeth and wash her face, a regimen which took a particularly long time, what with the intensity of her oral hygiene routine.

When the door opened, Eveline peeked around the bathroom door to see who it was and by all accounts, it appeared to be Rose. Finishing up with a splash of mouthwash, Eveline dabbed her mouth gently with a towel and pulled open the door and entered her room. Her eyebrow quirked a tick when she saw Rose's hair and after a moment of considering the look on her face, added, "Your hair looks nice curly. Is it naturally that way?"

Dalila quickly found that Rose's room was even more boring than the Library with no Rose in it. She was just about to get up and find a book or something to pass the time when Eveline walked in from the bathroom, nearly frightening her half to death. Her first instinct was to phase into her mongoose form, as it always was when she was surprised. But her shock turned into confusion when Eve behaved like she wasn't the least bit disturbed at seeing her. Was Eve Rose's new roommate? Dalila knew that Eveline had been rooming with Kayla, and Kayla left, so it was possible that this was now Eve's room as well.

Unless she'd accidentally walked into Eveline's room.

"Well, thank you?" Dalila said, her confusion obvious. She didn't know what was going on, but she didn't want to end up looking stupid, so she decided to play this one out for a bit more and see if she could figure it out on her own. "It's naturally curly, yes. Uhm, your hair looks nice as well?"

Seeing the confusing on Rose's face, Eve's brow furrowed. Was that an unusual thing to say? Typically she wasn't socially inept, but there was always a time to start? Eveline crossed her arms against her nightshirt and nibbled her lip. Why was Rose so confused?

"Oh, I had no idea. Well, you do a fantastic job of straightening it then. I've never noticed." Eve moved toward her nightstand, deciding it was none of her business why Rose was acting so differently. At the mention of her own hair, Eve tugged a bit on her blond locks. "Thanks! I've always wanted curly hair, but straightish wavy will have to do. My grandmother told me that growing out a perm is awful."

Checking her telephone, Eveline sat down on her bed. "Will you be up late tonight? I haven't been feeling well so I am going to turn in early."

It was so obvious that Eveline thought she was Rose, even she could tell. She never straightened her hair, it was entirely too much work for so small a reward. Plus she liked her hair the way it was, it was bouncy. Who didn't like bouncy hair? She was about to laughingly correct Eve's mistake when the other girl mentioned not feel well. All thoughts of mistaken identity were pushed to the side by her mothering instinct. "Oh no! What doesn't feel well? Is it your stomach?" She asked, standing up and fluttering her hands around in the air. "Have you tried some ginger ale to calm it down? Soda will settle your stomach if its feeling less than pleased."

Dalila didn't like the idea of Eve feeling poorly. "Have you seen the nurse? I'm sure she has something to help. Is it a headache? I have some aspirin," she continued, glancing around for her purse as she did. "Oh, where did I put that thing?" She asked absently, mentally retracing her steps. "I didn't leave it in the Library, did I?"

After a short moment, Eveline stood back up and folded down her covers, sliding in between the sheets. It was still very early, but the earlier she started trying to got to sleep, the earlier she would likely be ableto fall asleep. That was, if she could convince her mind to stop racing.

Looking up in surprise at Rose's concern, Eveline furrowed her eyebrows. Now this was getting strange. Rose had never struck her as the sort of person to be quite so interested in her health. "Oh, well," she started before Rose stood up.

Completely taken aback by Rose's display, Eveline decided she needed to reassess the girl's personality. Perhaps she had Rose all wrong, not that she thought her heartless by any standard. Attempting to insert a calm response, Eve sat up a bit straighter, "Oh no, it's okay. I'm okay. I've just got a bit of a head cold." She shook her head and looked around for Rose's purse. "Is it right there...?" she said pointing to a small lump by her desk.

Dalila sat back down on the bed with a plop. "If you're sure," she said with a shrug. Glancing over to the where Eve pointed, she said offhandedly, "Oh, no. I think that is Rose's," before remembering once more that Eveline was under the impression she was Rose. "And I am Dalila," she added quickly. It really wouldn't do for Eveline to think she was even crazier than she was. "I was looking for Rose and the door was open. I didn't realize she had a new roommate," she said with a 'what can you do about it?' look on her face. "I can see how you'd be confused, but I wasn't sure if I'd walked into the right room when you came out of the bathroom. Then I knew you must think I was her, but I got distracted by you feeling poorly."

It sounded even sillier when she said it out loud. "So, uhm, yeah," she ended lamely, scratching her head. "You don't happen to know when Rose will be back, do you? Because I can go if you want to go to sleep now." It seemed very early to go to bed to her, but this was Eveline's room. Who was she to tell a person when to sleep? Especially in their own room.

Eveline was positively ashamed. She couldn't believe that she mistook Dalila for Rose for so long. It was ridiculous. She had known both of them for her entire time at Idris and somehow she couldn't tell the difference?

Though, the longer she sat there, not at all listening to Dalila's explanation of what had happened, everything seemed to fall into place. Rose wasn't so motherly, but Dalila certainly was. And Dalila's hair was always curly, which would make sense considering the hair on the girl before her. "I'm really sorry," Eveline started feeling the heat of the embarrassment on her face, "I should have known. Actually, I kind of did know. But with the new roommates and everything." Eveline looked rather helplessly at Dalila and shrugged her shoulders. "I try to make as few waves as possible."

"I don't know. I haven't seen her since this morning. Sorry." Feeling even more embarrassed that she was going to bed so early, Eveline looked away from Dalila bashfully. "I'd really love for you to stay but it is very nearly April Fools and I anticipate I'll need my rest." Eve fiddled with a bit of blanket. "Thank you for being understanding."

"Oh, it's no problem." Dalila said easily. While it wasn't every day that someone mistook her for her twin, it also wasn't unknown to happen. And it did make sense that Eveline would try to minimize any discord between herself and her new roommate. "And okay, I'll be on my way out," she added as Eveline seemed to grow more and more uncomfortable. She was clearly overtired, and as Head Girl, tomorrow would no doubt be insane for her.

"When Rose comes in, could you ask her to come to see me if there is enough time?" She said as she pushed herself off Rose's bed. "If you are still awake, that is," she added quickly as she headed towards the door.

Eveline frowned a bit, still quite embarrassed by her behavior. What sort of teen girl went to bed this early? She should take up knitting and buy several cats and the picture would be complete. Either way, Dalila seemed rather happy to leave, so there didn't be a conflict that.

Leaning over, Eveline pulled a pad of paper out of her nightstand drawer. "I'll leave her a note!" she said warmly as Dalila exited the room. Immediately, Eveline wrote Rose a note. "Rose, Dalila stopped by and asked for you to find her. Love, Eveline." Yes, that was suitable. Placing it on Rose's night stand, Eve clicked off her light and laid down. Maybe she could get one good nights rest this week.
