1. My username is ______ because ______: Once upon a time I used to go online by the handle Dragonsinger (yes, from the McCaffrey novels). That was shorted by friends to D-Singer and I used that until the internet became popular and it became pretty much impossible to get that as a name. At that point, I picked up Tryslora who was an old AD&D character of mine, and later an NPC in a game I ran online for like ten years. Yes, I'm a dork, but hey it's unique and I'm consistent!

2. My name is _____ because ______: tryslora, because I never got around to setting anything different!

3. My journal is titled ____ because ____: "Tryslora in the Hall of Mirrors" because I used to describe the inside of my mind as being the Hall of Mirrors -- a place of infinite reflections, which are sort of like the voices/characters that live there. Um. Yeah, okay, I sound nutso.

4. My default userpic is ____ because ____: The Lucas Grabeel "Peachy Keen" icon I made a while back because it's a phrase I use ALL the time (and in very sarcastic ways usually). Someday I ought to get around to changing that.

I was remarking to him how neat my friend's screenname was (jukeboxing champ) because it was like the "before and after" category on Wheel of Fortune. He came up with "rainbowling" and I wanted to make it my gmail address but I think it was taken. So when I came over to IJ I wanted to switch things up from my old name of katidilemma, and I went with that.

2. My name is _____ because ______: "kati, the happy little feller :]" because it was said somewhere and KLDJFKLJF i can't remember now! Probably in a chat? IDK.

3. My journal is titled ____ because ____: "and where the journey will lead you, let this prayer be your guide" because I had been listening to Shadowland from the Lion King and it's one of my favorite songs ever. I'll probably change it soon.

I'm not even going to attempt breaking it down, though I do have the info to do so. Either way, I'm pretty pleased with how much I wrote. :]

My username is ______ because ______: amor_remanet; Well, back at the end of ninth grade, when I got my first livejournal, I'd been using Duanya as an online alias (still seen in my email address) and various forms of Sailor Moon-themed silliness as backups. Duanya came from a D&D character who got shot in the face and died; the Sailor Moon stuff was just me being an obsessive fan-nerd. Anyway, when I got to LJ, I wanted to do something ~different~ and ~new~… so I put my four years of Latin class to work and made up a Latin username. It translates to "love remains," which I thought was being Poignant And Cool… and then it just stuck and I'm too attached to change it.

2. My name is _____ because ______: "Kassie: a wild tl;dr monster" because, for ages, it was "Kassie, guardian angel of emo angsty boys" courtesy of something sherlock said on some snaps cup meme (I think it was a snaps cup meme anyway?) a while back, and as much as I loved that name, I thought a change was worthwhile. Also, I talk too much.

3. My journal is titled ____ because ____: "no, not the young people. they shall be spared." This is one of my favorite lines from the translation of Strindberg's The Ghost Sonata I read for Theatre History in my freshman year. Mostly, it's because I just really liked that line. Likewise, the subtitle is, "it could be worse! we could be stuck in the audience!" from one of my favorite lines in Muppet Treasure Island. (Statler and Waldorf are the figureheads on the bow of the ship. They're discussing how much it sucks to be stuck on said bow.)

4. My default userpic is ____ because ____: Linus and his blue blanket in A Charlie Brown Christmas, forlornly staring at the fail-tree. Because it's seasonal and I've been sort of feeling like the fail-tree lately.

The other day, Chick and I had this conversation...

Chick: *looking up* The moon's almost full, Mom.
Me: Wednesday. December 2nd.
Chick: *looking at me quizzically* How do you know that?
Me: Lavender.
Chick: *sighing* Right. You play a werewolf. Of COURSE you know when the full moon is.

I am grateful to be able to have children who accept the voices in my head as a matter of course! I remembered this conversation this morning when I was trying to get to work because if I didn't KNOW full moon is tomorrow, I'd have guessed it was today, because OMG people driving like freakin' MANIACS out there right now. Yeesh. Honeywell Int'l almost bought me a new van! There are days when I swear my car has an invisibility shield on it because tell me, how do you MISS seeing a bright silver minivan? Really.

My username is ______ because ______: 24601, which is a reference to Les Miserables, one of my favoritefavoritefavorite books and musicals. 24601 is Jean Valjean's prisoner number (in the musical, it's not quite as musical in the book), and it's how Javert, the cop that's always after him, sees him, as a criminal and a prisoner instead of a guy with the possibility of reform. It's all dramatic when he reveals it in the play, and he's all, "Who am I? Who am IIII? TWO-FOUR-SIX-OH-OOOOOOOOOONE." And in the version I saw at least he ripped his shirt open and was all, "CHECK MY 24601 TAT," and I was all, "OKAY YOU'RE AN AWESOME SINGER BUT YOU GOT A POT BELLY, PUT THAT SHIT AWAY."

2. My name is _____ because ______: "disgruntled goat" because he had his moments. It's from a Simpsons episode, where they got to Itchy and Scratchyland and it's a parody of Westworld, and Bart and Lisa are in the gift shop and Lisa asks about all these different stuffed animals on one of the shelves. Bart says they were from a failed Itchy and Scratchy variety hour I think? Anyways, one of them was Disgruntled Goat, and when Lisa says they weren't very good, Bart goes, "I dunno, Disgruntled Goat had his moments." And since I'm the goat girl, and the Simpsons girl, I had to use it. It was about time I changed it from "(william) control freak".

3. My journal is titled ____ because ____: "This Journal is Property of Rut Ru Enterprises, Inc./and he seduced my mom to get it". From Minghags. One of (MY LOVE) Brandon DiCamillo's characters is Rut Ru, an evil corporate man who steals Dico's other character's invention, and he seduces his mom to get it, and I'm so fucking in love with Brandon DiCamillo it went from not even funny to kind of funny again, so I used it.

4. My default userpic is ____ because ____: Seth Green and Joel McHale, when Seth pretty much climbed Joel like a redwood on The Soup. I couldn't stop watching that bit, because I love tiny tiny Seth Green and Joel's all giant and and and yeah. Hi.

In other news you guys, I finished NaNo with a completed story! I had to kill Burton at the end, poor guy, but I finished the story! First time I've managed to do that, even though I ended with less words than my previous attempts, which had... way more story to go. Like, a lot. A lot a lot.

I think Queenie hates all of Marie's characters :( She just made a new enemy today with Roux. It's probably like Loren says:

Loren: The teachers probably have conversations about Queenie in the lounge
Loren: Or at poker night w/e
Loren: "Bahahaha, did you hear about what that annoying Hero girl did this time!"

Also I need to write out her shitlist at some point. Because I can't always remember who is on it. If your character has argued with Queenie please tell me here. Obvs she dislikes most hxc leaguers, but some are on it especially. ( Queenie's shitlist )

Sometimes, it's the simple things, like finally finding a layout I like on IJ (and now I'll need to figure out how to customize it, but I'll get there). But TAG LIST. I knew it existed, I just... never managed to find one before this moment. I'm happy with this layout, stark as it is, because I see the bones. Now I just need to figure out how to add in graphics and make the colours less... intimidating and harsh on the eyes. I'll get there and life will be happy soon. But for the moment, I'm happy to have found the right bones.

If I get it figured out, this could make good bones to use for character journals eventually, too. Given that the ones I have could reeeeally use some customization. It looks like I don't love them (wrong) or don't have the time or knowledge (er, correct on both).

Because memes are fun!

Give me one or more of my characters (past or present all fair game!) and one minor character in their lives (i.e. their mother, their father, their first crush, their crazy neighbor lady, etc. etc.), and I'll tell you 5 facts AND who I'd use as a PB for said minor character.

As of last night, I reached my rpwrimo goals. The biggest challenge for me was actually reaching 30,000 words in everything but my THY stuff, and I succeeded! Of course, I went on a bit of a writing spree yesterday and wrote more words in one day than I have on any other single day this month. And it's the only day that I've gotten at least a tag or journal written in every game I'm in.

I'm glad to have met my goals because the next week and a half need to be spent on school stuff; today I need to concentrate on getting this reading done so that I can actually write the paper that I need to. And once the reading is done, I'd like to at least work up some sort of outline for my Shoah project.

I can do this. I think.

I think I just learned that going to bed on meme night is a very bad idea.... cuz like whoa....
