IT'S IN YOUR BLOOD... A virus is sweeping its way through the corridors at Hogwarts. A virus that inhibits the use of even the most basic magic. The Ministry have declared a state of emergency and placed a magical quarantine around the school, trapping the disease, and everyone inside. But it's not just students confined to the Hogwarts grounds. One by one wizards find themselves losing their ability to perform even the simplest of spells. But even as they struggle to try and discover a cure, darker forces are beginning to close in on the school... With their worlds suddenly turned upside down, will the students be able to pull together once more, or will this be one hurdle too big for them to overcome? a Marauder Era RPG

It's 1977; school's out for Summer, but this Summer feels strange... dark, somehow. It won't be long before school will start again, and Owls from Hogwarts are winging their way across the country with the promise of another perfectly normal year at Hogwarts. Homework will be piled on, the threat of looming exams being beaten into ignorant minds, but for now, at least, it's Summer, yet... something doesn't feel right. It's so much darker this year than it was last year. The days seem to be shortening beyond comprehension. The fog is thick and cold and constant, not to mention the fact that everyone seems so glum. There are disappearances being noted in the newspaper, but everything seems vague, as though someone knows what is going on, but too afraid to voice it aloud. The adults seem a bit on edge, uncertain how to handle the evil that is lurking in the shadows. The students, for the most part, are completely unaware of what is going on, even those whose parents are deep in the throes of swearing their allegiance to one side or another. The students, it seems, live in a world of their own, one untouched by the misery and doom of the outside world. Still, there seems to be something very unpleasant lurking unsaid, something creeping and crawling into the very veins of those it infects. Though there are only whispers, and people are afraid to voice their fears out loud, there are some things that cannot be fought. After all, it's difficult to feel protected by magic when the other side can use it, too. Incanto is a straightforward Marauder Era game. No weird twists, no time travel, nothing out of the ordinary. If you just want a game that is canon, then this is for you. Our emphasis in this game is on character development rather than plot development - we will not puppeteer your characters and encourage you to generate your own plots. In short: we just want to play, and if you want to play, THEN PLAY WITH US.

The year is 1978. The war against the Death Eaters has been boiling under the surface for almost a decade now. It was little things at first, easy to ignore, escalating to bigger attacks, bigger crimes, and of course, retaliation. Now the country is about ready to tear itself apart as the Ministry steps up their attempts to defeat Voldemort and no one is really sure who they should trust, if they should trust anyone at all. Who can you turn to when your own government is as likely to kill you as the masked criminals roaming the streets? Even the muggles are starting to notice. Attacks in muggle places are becoming more frequent, the Death Eaters getting more bold. And everyone is asking the same question. How long before it's open war? The First War is a Post-Warts, MWPP era RPG. We are canon through November 1st, 1978 and then we diverge, allowing the characters to tell their own stories. » Funny things are happening at Hogwarts. Punches are turning to poison, students are getting attacked in the halls, and the Daily Prophet keeps talking about murders. Some students know it can only be You-Know-Who, while others are blissfully ignorant. Headmaster Dumbledore fears the students are being attacked by outside forces, and so he has locked the school. No one gets in, or out. Mail is checked, double checked, and passed along. Four Aurors have come to join the ranks, and students feel safe. In the 1970s, a war had begun to rage throughout wizarding Britain. People disappeared, entire families were killed-- and the world was torn between Albus Dumbledore's Order of Phoenix and Tom Riddle's Death Eaters. The Ministry of Magic stood nearly powerless to stop these massacres and the threat of a pureblood society taking complete control loomed overhead. A red scare suddenly ran throughout the wizarding world as the body count grew.

The tables turned when the Dark Lord received intelligence that he believed would seal the fate of this war. A prophecy about a child that would have the power to defeat him, and it quickly came to light that this child was born of Lily and James Potter. He set about trying to find the couple who had defied him three times, and dispose of their son.

On October 31st, 1980 the Dark Lord was finally able to find the Potters at their home in Godric's Hollow when Peter Pettigrew betrayed them. However, the Potters were not ill-prepared for the attack. Severus Snape had been able to warn Lily Potter of what was to come, and when the Dark Lord arrived that evening at Godric's Hollow-- he was not met with the happy parents and their child-- but the entire Order of Phoenix and an ambush. On that Halloween, the Dark Lord fell, and the wizarding world rejoiced.

Time marched on, and the world forgot about what had happened that Halloween in 1980. The families who had supported the Dark Lord were either jailed, disappeared or managed to buy their way into freedom with tarnished reputations-- but the Ministry of Magic and the Order of Phoenix managed to regain their hold and purge the world of darkness. The world was at peace, but the Dark Lord would not remain forgotten forever-- those true to him knew there were plans that could resurrect him-- but those plans had seemingly disappeared.

In a world that is falling into forgetfulness and repeating the past, where will you stand in this time of trial?

	At Salem Academy, there are many ways to tell your future and your fortune. Ritual Magic, one of the staples of the curriculum, educates young witches and wizards in a style of magic that's been in the Americas for centuries. It one of the things that makes Salem stand apart from most other wizarding schools in the world. That and its unique blend of wizard and Muggle societies, accomplished for centuries without Muggle awareness. But even the best Divination students didn't quite see this coming. The wizarding world is about to go through an unexpected and likely unwelcome change: the revelation of its existence to the Muggles.

2003 is fast approaching. All of our favourite characters are past school and living in various stages of their lives. Harry Potter and Ron Weasley are full-blown Aurors on a severely understaffed Squad. Ginny Weasley has quit her job in favour of working for George. Pansy Parkinson is looking for a positive move forward in her life, working in law at the Ministry with Angelina Johnson. Lavender Brown has had a capital-V Vision, only she doesn't realise it. Charlie Weasley has only recently learned that Susan Bones's 10-month-old baby is actually his 10-month-old baby.

Sounds like life is coming along nicely, right? Well, there's just one catch:

Half of these people are very ill, or they will be very ill if they aren't very careful. The Muggles call it a superflu, but it's much more than that. St. Mungo's hasn't yet been able to figure out where this disease even came from, much less how to stop it. And the worst part? People with this disease are dying. First Gawain Robards and four other Aurors. Then Neville Longbottom. Who will be next?
