HP Traditions 2009 REVEAL @ 11:34 am

Tags: , ,

First off, THANK YOU to everyone who participated in this year's fest! And an EXTRA SPECIAL thank you to [info]silveredaccents and [info]kalina_blue, who stepped in to create gifts when others dropped out. You two saved my life. ♥

And now for the moment you've been waiting for! As of this post, you may now reply to comments on your fics, re-post your fic anywhere you like, and pimp it like crazy (because we all deserve extra appreciation).

DRUMROLL, PLEASE! *air drums* )

DON'T FORGET THAT THERE ARE PROBABLY COMMENTS ON YOUR FICS ON LIVEJOURNAL. You can find the LJ Reveal here.

And if I've made any mistakes (oh, won't that be embarrassing XD) please do let me know.

All of the gifts for the 2009 season of the HP Traditions Fest have been posted! The reveal will be posted on Friday, June 5.

Until then, catch up on all the stories you haven't read, and don't forget to leave comments (especially on the gifts for you)! I know some people like to have guessing games with their friends list and such, so feel free to do that too.

Just DON'T reveal which story is yours OR repost it anywhere until the reveal has been posted! Then you can cross-post and show off your work as much as you like.

Finally, thank you all for participating! I've had a wonderful time modding this fest and reading all of your work. :)

posting hiatus and summary thus far @ 11:55 am

Unfortunately, I must announce that posting will be on hold until my school's graduation festivities are over. I'm not technically graduating just yet, but my family will be converging on my house all the same. My plans for the 16th through the 20th have been confirmed, and it's looking like I will have very little time to myself. To reduce my stress level and add a little bit of leeway time to the posting schedule, I am pushing the next posting date from May 16th to May 21.

My apologies; I was not expecting my life to get quite this crazy. I will still be checking my email, so if you need to get in touch with me, you can. All email should be sent to traditionsmods@gmail.com.

While I'm gone, please enjoy everything that has been posted so far! The summary is beneath the cut; a similar post has been made on LJ. ENJOY! )

Just checking in to remind all of you that posting will begin this Friday, May 1! Since it is such a small fest, I will be posting submissions every other day, otherwise it would be over in little more than a week.

I would also like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all of the participants. It's looking like I will have all - or all but one or two - submissions in hand by the time posting starts, which is a drastic change from last year, and the fest ought to go off without a hitch. Seriously, thank you all so, so much - it is an enormous relief to me, and I'm pretty sure it's an exchange fest record. XD

I hope you're all as excited as I am for posting to start, so you can see what your fellow participants have written! :D

SUBMISSIONS DUE TODAY @ 11:32 am

[info]hecticity:
Tags: ,

Hey all - it's that time!

Yes, it is now April 15th, and your submissions are DUE. I expect to hear from you sometime today, whether you have finished or not. If I don't, I will be forced to send my minions after you prod and poke you over email until 1) you get back to me or 2) I am forced to resign myself to the fact that you have dropped out. I really appreciate those of you who have already submitted your fics, or at least contacted me to let me know when you will be submitting them. For those of you that haven't: remember, the modly email is traditionsmods@gmail.com.

IMPORTANT: IF YOU DO NOT RESPOND TO MY EMAILS BY APRIL 20, I WILL START LOOKING FOR A PINCH HITTER. As this is a small fest, the duration of posting (starting May 1) will be very short, and therefore I do not have very much wiggle room when it comes to granting extensions past the beginning of posting.

In summary: get in touch with me today or I will be annoyingly persistent. You can't say I didn't warn you. ;)

Hello, lovely participants!

This is your ONE WEEK REMINDER. The due date for your submissions is Wednesday, April 15th.

If you know that you will not be able to turn it in by then, you should let me know within the week. I am willing to grant extensions, although of course I appreciate it when submissions are turned in by the deadline.

You have until the end of April 15th (your time) to get in touch with me. Remember, my email is traditionsmods@gmail.com.

Thank you, and good luck finishing up your stories! :)

Hi everyone!

We have reached the approximate halfway point of the writing time you've been allotted. This is your reminder that your submissions are due in just over a month, on April 15th.

I'm posting early because I'm going out of town for spring break for a week and a half, but I'll still be available by email. Feel free to email me (traditionsmods@gmail.com) if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions.

Good luck, everyone!

I just wanted to extend my gratitude to all of this year's participants. All of you, every single one, got back to me before the deadline, and I'm very hopeful that your punctuality will make this a fabulous fest!!

Thank you so very much, and Happy Valentine's Day to all of you, if you celebrate.

Much love from your very pleased mod. ♥♥♥

I have worked all afternoon to match people up, and your assignments have been sent out early. I chose to send them now instead of on the 15th for two reasons:

1) the fest is small, and some people were difficult to assign. However, I did manage to give everyone assignment with at least ONE pairing or combination that they are able to write.
2) Extra time to write is always a good thing, yes?

Remember: if your assignment includes a request for a pairing/genre/kink that you listed among your squicks, you do not have to write that pairing/genre/kink. At the very minimum, you should include ONE of the requested pairings, ONE requested tradition, and as many of the other requests (pairings, wishes, kinks, etc) as you can or would like to.

Please REPLY TO YOUR ASSIGNMENT EMAIL by February 15th. IF you have a problem with your assignment please notify me immediately and I will do my best to assist you, although do keep in mind that rearranging assignments may not be possible. If that is the case, I apologize in advance.

OTHER IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER:
- Your submission is due on April 15th
- It must be at least 2500 words long, and in .doc or .txt format
- You must include ALL html in your fic, I will not add it for you

Thank you all! I'm looking forward to hearing back from all of you. :)

As it is now February 11th where I am, sign-ups are officially CLOSED. Thank you so very much to everyone that signed up! I am looking forward to running this fest. :)

Expect your assignment in your email inbox by February 15th!

Due to a limited number of sign-ups so far, the deadline to sign up for the 2009 HP Traditions Fest has been extended until February 10. I don't mind running a small fest, but it would still be awesome to have more fic to read. So let your friends know that they still have time to sign up! :D

As for the rest of the schedule, the assignments may be a few days delayed in being sent out due to the extension, but no more than the 10 extra days given to sign up. I won't be changing the submissions date because most people don't start that early anyway, but I will keep that in mind when I get requests for extensions.

Thank you!

Signups for 2009 @ 01:08 am

[info]hecticity:

Happy New Year, everyone! It's time to sign up for your favorite fest. Signups will be open from January 1 to January 31.

Signups are also open at the mirror community on LiveJournal, but please only sign up ONCE. Don't forget to read the rules.

NB: Incomplete sign up sheets will NOT be accepted.

*We will attempt to reassign all fics to a recipient or pinch-hitter, but it may not be possible

**Please be specific. It doesn't matter how long your signup sheet ends up being as long as it has every detail possible in it so that we can better match your request.

Tags: , , ,

Hi all! I have some good news for you: [info]jairissa and I have decided to run this fest again in 2009. :D

Just like this year, the 2009 schedule will be as follows:
January 1 - Signups open.
January 31 - Signups close if maximum number isn't reached.
February 15 - Assignments sent out.
April 15 - Fics due.
May 1 - Posting starts.
May 31 - Posting finishes.

If you participated last year and did not complete your assignment, you will not be accepted into this year's fest, as per the rule posted last year: Please note that if you drop out or fail to complete your assignment you will not only not be welcome back next year, you will also not receive your gift and your name will be posted publicly at the end of the fest. Yes, we DO know who you are.

Rules for Traditions 2009, PLEASE READ CAREFULLY )

If you have any questions, please refer to the FAQ (below). If your question is not answered, feel free to leave a comment here or contact the moderators at traditionsmods@gmail.com (note the change from last year. Gmail did something strange to the old account).

HP Traditions Reveal @ 11:28 am

Sorry this has been so long in coming. There was one more gift, but the author and I have both had some busy personal stuff going on lately. I've made an executive decision to post the reveal without the gift, since the gift is for me, and I hate to leave you hanging around wondering who wrote your gifts and wanting to be able to show yours off. I'm sure I'll get my gift eventually.

My deepest apologies for all the problems with this exchange this year, it could not be helped. I will be modding again next year from the very beginning, and hopefully will be able to keep it running more smoothly. I hope you enjoyed the fest, and that you will be participating again next year!

Drumroll, please )

A similar masterlist can be found here on Livejournal. Feel free to repost your stories and show them off, now! You can also reply to your comments, if you haven't done so already.

Thank you so much for your incredible work. An extra special thank you to our pinch hitters, [info]bean120001, [info]catalinacat, and [info]dark_adrenalynn! We couldn't have done it without you. ♥

Please let me know if anything on the list is incorrect, I will fix it as soon as possible. Feedback is welcomed at hp.traditions@gmail.com or in the comments.

Just checking in to make sure everyone knows that the fest is not dead and I haven't disappeared off the face of the planet. I have in fact been around and prodding our pinch-hitters regularly, bribing where necessary, and things SHOULD with any luck be finishing up this week.

Sorry for the delay; sometimes you just can't hurry the writing process. I hope you all are enjoying what's been posted so far and stick around for the reveal!

Hey guys and gals,

You're wonderful to take on the pinch-hits, but I really need those in soon. I've put the fest on hiatus for a week now, and it'd be great if we could finish with a bang, mmkay? So send them in ASAP. Please.

I had really hoped to avoid this, but [info]hp_traditions will be going on posting hiatus until the last gifters get their fics in. Seems like real life troubles are popping up everywhere with everyone, and understandably, writing can't always be a top priority.

Please enjoy everything that's been posted so far, and my best wishes of luck to those still working on their stories. Thanks to everyone else for being patient. ♥

This message brought to you by a mod that is incredibly grateful to the lovely pinch-hitters who got their work in early, and to everyone that's been leaving feedback to appreciate our participants' hard work! ♥♥

Emails regarding pinch-hitters, where necessary, will be sent out soon. To give these pinch-hitters more time to work, posting will be slowing down to one gift every other day (the next one will be posted tomorrow) and posting will go on hiatus if necessary to make sure no one is left out.

My apologies to everyone that has not yet received their gifts; I'm working on it, but it's difficult to get everything done when members simply drop off the face of the planet.
