The year is 2004.

Five years after the fall of Voldemort, everything was peaceful. And then...

A series of incantations found in an ancient book banned by wizarding society over two hundred years ago were spoken by several individuals in unison...

...and that's when it happened.

A bright green light filled the night sky and quickly went from one end of the globe to the other, shining down in beautiful emerald and eliminating almost every living human species in it's path - all but the few dozen witches and wizards who were at the Quidditch World Cup stadium and those who were locked away in Azkaban. Those two places held such strong magical charms, they were protected, and so were the people inside.

Ones at the stadium had no idea anything had happened. They emerged from the building and saw several sets of clothes scattered about on the ground. They would return home to find their families all gone. No one was around.

The surviving Azkaban prisoners would wake to find no guards and no Dementors. They escaped.

And now here we are in a world with no more Muggles and only eighty remaining people. The government is gone, there is no structure and there are no rules. A new Ministry must be formed. New rules must be written and obeyed. The magical world must go on and flourish and rebuild. And the ones remaining must make sure this will happen.

All survivors will begin their journey in London, including the escaped Death Eaters. All characters not cast yet have fallen under a sleeping virus and have been moved to St. Mungos. As they are cast and come into the game - they will be just waking up and remembering what happened. They will be free to leave the hospital and join society.

A Dark Marauder Era RPG

1979 ...

No one is safe.

Frequent attacks and disappearances have rippled through the Wizarding World with no clear connection or reason. Scholars, children and Ministry officials are being picked off at random leaving fear in the wake of destruction and death as Lord Voldemort ascends to power. The Ministry is hard pressed to end the struggle as Death-Eaters watch their every internal move so closely that resistance is nearly futile.

The world is dividing, and there is little way of escaping it as loyalties shift beneath the feet of the innocent.

But life goes on amidst the atrocities; people fall in love, get married and try to adapt to a world of war. In the shadows there are some who would fight back. The Order of the Phoenix is hardly more than a fleeting thought of revolution, but as Death-Eaters gain influence amongst the fragile minds within the community, citizens have begun taking the fight into their own hands.

Which side will you choose, and who will succeed?

Solemnly Sworn finds the Wizarding world in the midst of a progressing war, following a canon time-line up until the summer of 1979 at which point the game diverges into an AU mod-run storyline and player-generated plot.

We are an open, friendly community with devoted moderators seeking an easy going atmosphere with emphasis on character development and interaction. Plot cues issued weekly!

It's the new school year at Piffled and the students have a lot more to worry about than just a bunch of mandatory art electives. A student-run campaign, strengthened by the support of prefects, has changed the Hogwarts curriculum forever.

Now a mandatory sexual education course is in place for all students 16 and older.

Sex was previously a banned subject at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry under the assumption that "parents took care of that sort of thing" and the students were "too young to be having it anyway". That's old school now. This school year will go down in Hogwarts history as the year that the school expanded itself as being not only a magical institution with the artistic backbone established by the Ministry since 1998, but also as a place that truly prepares young adults for adulthood in the best way they know how.

If you thought having The Talk with your mum was awkward, try having it with the Headmaster.

Piffled has been open since June 2010 and is still running. Focusing on students from 5th to 7th year and recent Hogwarts graduates, it is about to enter the the 2023-2024 school year. An event oriented game, students are encouraged to participate in as many clubs, school activities, and events as possible. As a reminder, all students are required to take one fine art elective "club" to keep up with Ministry requirements as well as the mandatory weekly sexual education course.

It was the last day of testing for the class of 1978, something had to go wrong. The slip of a knife and the soft plop was the beginning to a chain reaction that would alter the summer for forty seventh year students. One of Peter Pettigrew's bat wings slipped from his grasp, skittered across his work bench and sailed across the gap and into Narcissa Black's green bubbling cauldron. Miss Black backed up hastily into Hestia Jones' simmering cauldron, letting the contents fly into four other students NEWTs assignments. There was a loud curse coming from the direction of the Carrow sister and a "James put me down!" from Lily Evans.



The mixing ingredients and half finished potions knocked out all twenty-five students in the hall and the fifteen waiting for their Charms NEWT in the Great Hall. The Ministry proctors (who hadn't been briefed properly about catastrophes of this kind) had placed wards around themselves and watched the catastrophe unfold.



As smoke cleared and students started to wake up, Headmaster Dumbledore watched from the head table, his bright eyes twinkling behind his half moon spectacles. It was most delightful to finally see Slytherin's and Gryffindor's casting their house loyalties aside to win over one another's affection. Hufflepuffs were whispering sweetnothings into the ears of Ravenclaws, and was that Sirius Black stripping his robes to flex for a blushing Helga Byrne?



The Headmaster stood and stroked his long beard. There was no way he could send the Seventh Year students home, love struck and longing, to parents who wouldn't understand. Deciding that this mishap must be fixed under his watch, headmaster Dumbledore invited the seventh year class to spend the summer of '78 at Hogwarts until select group of staff members and ministry officials found the reversal for the potion.



Wouldn't it be perfect for the fighters to become lovers with a war looming? With this thought in mind, Professor Dumbledore smiled to himself and deemed this summer
