In 1975 the Dark Lord and his Death Eaters conquered the Ministry and placed themselves at the pinnacle of society. In 2000, life remains the same. The old Death Eaters and their descendants make up the elite. Corruption is rife and, anyone foolish enough to question their actions, will find themselves dead or charged with treason. Blood is all important. Everyone in society is forced to register their blood status, which is the critical measure of how they can live their lives. Muggleborns are exiled and purebloods are heavily favoured in every aspect of the new nation. The once effective Order of the Phoenix is only a fraction of its former self and has no influence. The old members are now on the run or attempting to merge into society, while their old leader has been dead since 1980. However, there are cracks appearing. International condemnation for the Dark Lord’s government is rising with tensions looming over a confrontation with France. War seems almost on the horizon and, the once abandoned Order, view it now as their opportunity to fight again against an enemy it has been unable to fight effectively for decades.
