The year is 2001. Voldemort was defeated 3 years ago, and the wizarding world is busily rebuilding.

The Death Eater threat has been eliminated, at least as far as the Ministry is concerned.

Relations between Muggle and Wizard have reached an all-time high. There are even policies in place to completely eliminate the statute of secrecy and all its subsidiary policies within the next few years, including a visit by Prime Minister Tony Blair this summer to Diagon Alley!

Obviously, there are movements to return the pendulum the other way. A Separatist Movement is forming using nom de plumes from a variety of characters.

Even more strangely, those known to be dead have been appearing. While no one seems to know the rationale, no one can deny that it is happening.

Now, the Ministry is fighting two battles. One, to encourage Muggle and Wizard interactions, and the other to define where these dead citizens belong.

We are looking for vibrant characters with a thirst to redefine the wizarding world. Original Characters are welcome, but please be aware that certain rules apply.

This is an epic-style game. Plot arcs spanning months are welcome and encouraged!

For specific player-driven plots we are very much in need of Neville Longbottom! The loyal DA crew would love to have him around. Specifically, Luna and Ginny have expressed missing their close friend and confidant!

Weasley Clan! We need you! Ron and Ginny are minus their parents and brothers. The Ministry's current position on Muggles raises the Weasley name in society and power. Percy Weasley has just been given a promotion! We would love to have him wreaking havoc having reached the next peak in his Ministry career!

Muggle-lovers, Muggleborns and Half-bloods are especially desired! The Ministry wants to give you MONEY! (war reparations). You are wanted by the Ministry for positions of power and influence. Aurors and other Ministry officials are very much encouraged! OCs welcome!

On May 2nd, 1998, the Wizarding World was purged of the greatest and most terrible evil it had ever known. The Boy Who Lived finally conquered the Dark Lord, once and for all. Naturally, society had its work cut out for it from that point. The Ministry’s rebuilding efforts took a considerable amount of time and attempted to right all the things that had been wronged, perverted, and nigh on destroyed by Lord Voldemort’s reign of terror. The first change came with Auror Kingsley Shacklebolt’s election as Minister for Magic on June 17th, 1998. Under the de-facto leadership of the Wizengamot, the captured Muggleborns were released from Azkaban and committees were instated to oversee the reconstruction of Hogwarts and Diagon Alley and Wizarding Britain began what would be a long recovery.

Shacklebolt absolutely trounced his competitors in the popular election, thus winning the Wizengamot’s appointment to the Minister’s spot and, in his inauguration speech, he promised that the tyranny of Voldemort’s Ministry, the corruption of Fudge’s, and the wartime suspension of personal liberties seen under Scrimgeour were to be relics of the past. This new Ministry, he promised, would be fervently dedicated to protecting its people and their rights. It was, in the words of many, the dawning of a new era.

No one was to be made any different than anyone else, and Minister Shacklebolt started by modifying the probation system in June 2000. There were no changes to be had for the Death Eaters, but several members of the Order of the Phoenix and Dumbledore’s Army, including Harry Potter and Shacklebolt themselves, were placed on different levels of probation as well, to show that no one was immune from accepting the consequences of their involvement in the War.

Finally, shortly following the modifications to the probation system, Minister Shacklebolt sent a package to every of-age Witch and Wizard in Great Britain, containing a small, black leather journal and a short statement of intent. According to Minister Shacklebolt’s letter, the journals are meant as a means to bring people together. Using special charms, people can communicate with one another much quicker than they can with owls and it is the Ministry’s hope that using these new devices will help people to see past their superficial differences.

As the summer of 2000 carries on, the people of Wizarding Britain are trying to adjust to all the changes in their lives and environment. Will society finally come together, or will old prejudices refuse to die?

This was a time in the day where the old, pure-blooded magical folk had but one thing to do: Continue the line. Hoping to make sure that it would survive another generation or so. The only other thing going on is the socializing of the purebloods of the Wizarding World and Grindelwald making his appearance during his tyranny.

Welcome, weary traveler, to Atlantis, the resting place of Wizards. Here you will be granted a home, a business, a new power/enhanced power, and a place to spend the afterlife in peace. We hope you will find sanctuary. Upon arriving, you will be sorted into one of four pantheons: Egyptian, Celtic, Roman/Greek, or Atlantean. Your designated gods will be in charge of protecting you, will help you find what you need, and also go a bit further. Make them happy, and they’ll help you sabotage your enemies.

Upset them, and find yourself cursed.

During the 1970's, the war between The Death Eaters and The Order of Phoenix raged on. People disappeared and entire families were killed by the hands of the Death Eaters and the Dark Lord Voldemort- and the Ministry of Magic stood nearly powerless to stop these massacres. The threat of pureblood society taking complete control over the Wizarding World rose, and Albus Dumbledore created the Order of the Phoenix. The blood shed and the body count between the two groups grew and grew while no progress was made on either side. A red scare ran throughout the Wizarding world; people who were even thought to be Death Eaters were convicted and killed without a fair trial.

The Dark Lord used his intelligence in the Ministry to gain what he believed would be the knowledge that would win the war. A prophecy about a child that would have the power to defeat him, and through much of his own research he discovered this child was born of Lily and James Potter. He set about trying to find the couple who had defied him three times and kill their son.

Lily and James were forewarned of the fate of their son, and managed to elude Lord Voldemort for a number of years- they did not stop living their lives. Not only did they have their son- but they also had a daughter while in hiding. They hoped the terror would stop and they would be able to return to their daily lives, it didn't. Peter Pettigrew, their secret keeper betrayed them and on the evening of October 31st, 1983- he came to Godric's Hollow to kill them.

Things did not go as planned, James Potter sacrificed his life for his family that night- and in doing so he killed Lord Voldemort. No one knows exactly what happened that night- he sent his wife and children into hiding, and as the house fell down around them they were able to barely escape and take refuge at Hogwarts until the storm could blow over.

With the Dark Lord Dead, though no body recovered- the Ministry was able to capture many of the most prominent Death Eaters and those who weren't killed were given life sentences in Azkaban- Peter Pettigrew included. The Potter's had become a famous family, and the fact that James Potter's widow was testifying made the trial a public spectacle. Some of these families were able to buy their way out of Azkaban, but their reputations were not unscathed.

The only trace of the Dark Lord was a package he left with the Lestrange family- containing a few items from the Founders of Hogwarts. There was no note, no instructions- just a few seemingly useless items.

Time went by, and the threat of the Death Eaters became something only remembered by History Books. The next generations started at Hogwarts, and it seemed that all was well in the Wizarding World.

But that was only for the time being..

The year is 1995 when Harry, Ron and Hermione return to Hogwarts to start their fifth year. No one has any idea what is in store for them.

The War has begun..

Time of Trial has been open and active since January 19th, but we've recently decided to alter the plot and re-start the game with a fresh slate for everyone. None of the characters have any back-story! The game will officially re-open on Monday the 23rd for play.

Most Wanted: Draco Malfoy, Ginny Weasley, Lavender Brown, Peter Pettigrew, Arthur Weasley, Luna Lovegood, and Cho Chang among many others!
