| About: | Welcome to Harry Potter Rare Pairs! Looking for some fan-fiction or fan-art that is a bit unusual? Something unique? Tired of the same old pairings you find in almost any HP dedicated community? Well you've come to the right place! We specialize in the unusual and unique - in fact, we love it! Care for a dish of Charlie/Lupin? Maybe a dash of Hermione/Tonks? There's plenty of variety to be found here. So come on in, pull yourself up a chair - have a chocolate frog or two and enjoy. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU NEED TO "JOIN" IN ORDER TO READ/SEE FANFIC AND/OR ART Now, some of you may ask: What is considered to be a "rare pair" in this community? A "rare pair" is considered to be any couple or pairing that is unusual, unique and has very little known fan-fiction or fan-art committed to it. These particular pairings can be comprised of two or more of the main characters, two or more of the lesser known obscure canon characters or even a combination of both. Draco/Penelope anyone? Maybe Tonks/Snape? Or even Bill/Susan/Neville? Of course, if you aren't sure you can always ask, but chances are if it's something that you've never come across before, it is generally considered to be a "rare pairing". Now you may be asking: Which pairings are not considered to be rare pairs? More difficult to pinpoint, but there are pairings that have been given more attention to than others. ie: Harry/Hermione, Draco/Snape etc. (and of course we cannot forget certain pairings that were revealed in Deathly Hallows). To assist you, below is a list of the more common pairings that one comes across in the Harry Potter Fandom: Slash: Harry/Draco Snape/Draco Ron/Harry Snape/Harry Snape/Lupin Remus/Sirius Het: Draco/Ginny Harry/Ginny Draco/Hermione Harry/Hermione Ron/Hermione Snape/Hermione Therefore, no pairings of the above will be permitted in this community. It's not that we don't like them, it's just that there are so many other communities dedicated to such pairings. As well, should anyone wish to point out another more common het or slash pairing that has been omitted here, feel free to email the maintainers. We try to be laid back and fun around here, but if there were no rules it would be total chaos - and we wouldn't want that, now would we? So, here we go: MEMBERSHIP All applicants that have been granted membership will also be granted posting access. Due to the explicit nature of some of the material that will be posted within this community, only those who are 18 years of age or older will be granted membership. Therefore, your date of birth or a statement of age must be included in your IJ profile. If this is not contained in your IJ profile, you cannot be allowed membership into the community. POSTING 1.
