Summary: Minerva hosts a Halloween party; Severus is forced to attend.
Fog whorled silently around Severus’ legs; he shivered slightly. Behind him there were quiet footfalls with a slight left foot drag across the stones; Lupin approached.
“You promised Minerva you would stay for an hour; it’s only been twelve minutes.”
“You need a more precise timepiece Lupin. I was in there twelve minutes and forty-seven seconds and technically I have not yet left.”
“Perhaps if your costume wasn’t mainly black someone might have guessed it. Robin Hood would have been easier to deduce than the Sheriff of Nottingham.”
Severus snorted. “The hat would have been completely absurd.”
Remus chuckled, his voice husky when he spoke. “I can’t fault your choice of boots though and your legs are fab!”
Severus stiffened. “And what would you know of a man’s legs?”
“Quite a lot and I know what I like.”
“Are you flirting with me Lupin?” Severus turned.
“Of course.”
“And…” Severus prompted.
“You’re the sexiest man at this party.”
“We best go back inside; the cold is obviously affecting your brain.”
Remus grabbed his arm. “Going inside won’t change the fact that you are sexy.”
The cold air was impossibly still.
“I’ll flirt with you inside if you like.”
“That would be acceptable.” Severus replied quietly.
