Original poster: florahart Hey, so, yes, I said I'd take care of memberships for shocolate so she can not have to fret about accidental spoiling.
This is not a problem--I totally don't mind approving folks to join so they can comment.
However, just as a note? If you have a brand spanking new LJ with no content, no friends that would seem to have anything to do with this comm, and I can't even find a comment you've ever made, I can't just click you through. This would be missing the point, since then it would give you access to all the posts with really no assurance you aren't, in fact, one of the trollish types looking to post spoilers, see? I mean, most likely, you aren't, because most people don't suck. But, you know, since the point here is to avoid ugly spoilers, I can't just assume anyone joining is YAY ALL FINE!
Alas.
So.
1. Probably it would be nifty if you had journal content and it seemed to indicate you were unlikely to be trolly.
2. And yeah, I know that's kind of sucky if you just created your LJ for whatever reason. Sorry.
3. Also, dudes, if someone DOES go posting a spoiler comment to your post? Screen it, don't delete it, link me (I'm at gmail, same username), and I will ban posthaste (screen because then I can delete with banning, rather than having to go ban at the admin console, and also because then I can give the evidence to the mods of the other comms with whom I share this kind of thing).
Yes, I know you can't comment to me here if you are a person of nonmembership at the moment. However, you might comment at my own LJ if you have a question. :) |
