One more order of business: Back on February 5th, when thoughts of the catastrophic earthquake suffered by the Haitian people was fresh in everyone's mind, I pledged $1.00 (US) to Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières for each story and work of art posted in this year's HP Beholder Fest. With our last story and the trio of art pieces posted today, this year's Beholder total stands at 60, and I've just made my $60 donation to DWB/MSF.

A number of people stepped up to the plate and made variations on my pledge (yay!!), so to make things easier for those folks, I'm going to give some totals. Note: everybody's totally free to decide when they're going to contribute, how much (feel free to increase the amount you're giving *g*), and to which charitable organization.

* [info]meri_oddities, who's matching my donation of $1.00 for each story/artwork completed and posted in this year's exchange. (60 x 1.00)
* [info]r_grayjoy who's pledging .50 for every slash piece posted in this year's exchange. (21 x .50)
* [info]venturous, who's pledging $1.00 for every work that includes Snape in this year's exchange (12 x 1.00)
* [info]ragdoll, who's pledging .50 for every het or femslash piece posted in this year's exchange. (38 x .50) (*note: see below for the event ragdoll's donating to and consider lending it your support!)
* [info]atdelphi, who's pledging $5.00 Canadian for each story that features Argus Filch in the main pairing. (3 x 5.00)
* [info]torino10154, who's pledging $1.00 for anything with Eileen or Tobias and $.50 for anything with Severus. (3 x 1.00 and 12 x .50

(the numbers of het plus slash plus femslash don't equal the total number of stories and art because some work had multiple mixed-category pairings)

And as for charity, I'll be sponsoring my friend who is doing this which is for five seperate UK charities. (If anyone else wants to sponsor him, just let me know and I'll get you the info)

And thank you for hosting this. I still have many, many tabs open that I haven't had time to read yet. And they are all tempting me away from everything else. Maybe tonight, I'll get to sit down and read a few. The ones I've read so far have been wonderful. Great Fest, Beth!!

Seriously, thank you for providing the inspiration for so much wonderfulness. HP Beholder is always one of the highlights of my reading year. Although next year I may decide to offer some bribes incentives for more Snape! ;)

I love many HP fests, but this one is my absolute favorite. Every day's post is like a present. (For the first couple weeks of the fest, posting takes place during one of my classes. When students come up to me afterward to ask questions, I feel like shouting at them, "Not now! I have to go check today's Beholders!") Such high-quality work and such fabulous pairings. I'm now officially Auntie Muriel's biggest fan, and smokin' (in so many senses) Viktor Krum's, too. Thank you, Beth, for running things so well and for making all these delights possible. I do hope it will happen again next year.

*cheers!* I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for running this fest again. I know an awful lot of work went into it, and it shows - this was undoubtedly the fannish highlight of my spring.

Seven more entries to read, and an additional three to leave feedback on...fortunately, it's a long weekend here, and I can think of nothing I'd rather be doing.

Also, thank you for the tally. I'll be rounding up and donating $20 to Doctors Without Borders later this weekend.

Thanks for all the time and effort you put into this! I've gotten so busy I can only keep a toe in fandom, but this exchange is always on my must-write/read list. I adore it for the premise alone, but it's also spawned a lot of high-quality writing, as well, which makes it a double pleasure.
