I love the contrast at the beginning between the celebrations and Horace's guilt. We know he felt guilty, but I have never seen the depth and breadth of it explored. Brilliant. I love that they were friends before and that their relationship now both builds on that and has to change because of the turn about in the caretaking role. You made the build up totally believable and developed both of their characters so well. The memories of Tom were litle a punch to the gut (in a good way). This is a poignant, beautifully done story.
