Wow. This story deserves all the fine comments that it's already received. What I loved about this piece is how you've revealed the shades of grey in each character: Ollivander's unwillingness to condemn the evil that wizards can do with wands, Muriel's inherently contradictory and yet fierce opinions. These are very imperfect people in a horrid situation, but they've found humour and light and interest in it. That's what's fascinating here. I loved how Muriel and Ollivander approached their mutual attraction; it was beautifully realistic and sharp and funny and tugged at my heartstrings. Gorgeous work.
