I am completely in love with your Muriel and your Ollivander. They're such characters, and they complement each other so wonderfully. Love how you have them circle each other, the clarity of Muriel's argument, Ollivander's perceptiveness (his thoughts on light and darkness are especially insightful, as are his musings on his craft), and the wonderful sex scene. It's a perfect example of what I so love about this fest.
Your attention to detail is great -- the duck, the background on wandmaking, Ollivander's and Muriel's stories, and the family scenes. Everyone's spot-on IC, from Arthur, who only has half his family with him, to the very Ginny-esque Ginny cameo. And the dialogue, from the opening “And what,” she asks, “happens if a woman becomes Ollivander’s apprentice?” to "Self-pity isn’t attractive in anyone, least of all a man who just had an orgasm." is delightful.
Beautiful story about two wonderful, strong characters! *bookmarks*
