Wow. What lush, gorgeous language you use. I love your descriptions--the stone vault of the Great Hall's ceiling, the way you describe the play of sunlight and moonlight in several scenes, the way you have flowers tie everything together.
The first-kiss scene between Dudley and Neville is perfect. How Dudley feels, the fear mixed with confidence that this is right. It got me all tingly and teary-eyed.
And I love your treatment of grief in this--the people reaching out to one another in love, that nobody is saying it's not as bad as it clearly is, but that as they can, they still notice the beauty. The idea of Lavender, Cho, and Luna as makeshift chaplains is a stroke of genius (and, I can't help but think, a nod to me!). Just...the care everyone is showing one another is wonderful.
