I've already started writing my own rec, which will be Lupin/Snape, after rereading it, of course! I'm just encouraging folks to post their favorites for some extra loving.

I just found this fascinating, intricate AU story and am blown away! Harry is a wandmaker, Draco...well, you have to read the story to find out. There's conspiracy and myth, destruction and primordial magic; this is a well-researched and well-fleshed out story that sucked me and enlivened my Saturday...I read it over the course of the day and just finishing now...I recommend this for all the folks who love a good yarn, lovingly-crafted backgrounds and extra characters, and enjoy the characters as they are but in a different setting.

Please, read this and be pleasantly surprised!

Art! You've got to see this! The color and the body-language are so spartan and so powerful. Go and be amazed! The venom you can almost feel from Snape is so powerful, it comes across the computer screen!

I've toyed with changing the universe that the Potterverse characters inhabit whilst keeping them in character and this story does the same. I loved the Severus Snape who's sort of an alchemic wizard and the mysterious ward, Harry Potter.

I recommend this as a very wonderful example an alternate universe story and those Snarry lovers amongst us will relish Severus' logical mind!

While I tried desperately to keep the fellows in character, sometimes Severus got away from me! *LOL* Harry's personality changes with the situation and I thought I caught the uncertainity and the bravado that fits each one. Remus was tough, but he's a warrior who always had to give in...in this fic, he doesn't have to give in or subsume his own wants and needs anymore. I hope y'all take a chance on this.

Being a month of fests, I'm just blow away by the talent all over the place!

A few AU fic recs:

A snarry that I've just read and enjoyed immensely from the snarry_games is That Place in the Dark by dementordelta. A marvelous read with a grotesque curse, a gloriously snarly and defensive Severus and a very hopeful and determined Harry.

I loved this Harry/Draco from the hd_worldcup - Beneath Boundless Skies by anonymous. Both needing to get away from Britain after the Battle of Hogwarts, Harry & Draco find themselves unexpected roommates in a wizarding school in Australia. Author's summary: The end of one journey is the start of another. No matter how hard it is, nor how long it takes you to make the first step. This fic brilliantly captures the feel of Australia - even the heartbreaking beauty of the wide open skies. Harry & Draco getting to know each other is well-developed, and their romance seems inevitable. Beautifully written.

And er, a self-pimp...
