Gellert/Aberforth
Who: Gellert Grindelwald; Aberforth Dumbledore
What: Gellert is continuing with his recruiting and he's snagged up little Abe.
Where: Location of Gellert's choosing.
When: Saturday, September 13th, 3000

That was definitely an accomplishment in itself... getting Aberforth Dumbledore interested in anything that Gellert had to say. The boy--man, whatever he was considered these days was the most resistant creature that Grindelwald ever had the misfortune to meet, but now.. well now he was glad that he had. If he could drag Dumbledore into this well then he would be another hand to gain Gellert control of Albus and with Albus under his reign and Riddle at his side and Bellatrix out of the question then everything would be swimmingly well on its way to perfection. Unfortunately that was looking too far ahead and the world wasn't perfect, it was far from it and so any notion that his revolution would turn up in such good odds was ridiculous.

Gellert pushed the thoughts out of his mind for now and focused instead on the present situation, considering the speech he'd give to Aberforth to persuade him to join his cause, they would have to be pretty words... nice words infused with as much truth as he could manage without revealing all. He couldn't put too much of his bread in one basket as Albus sometimes liked to say. Gellert paced around for a moment, re-arranging his old fashion coat and brushing a hand through his curly hair. He shouldn't be nervous about this, Aberforth wasn't that big of an issue, his involvement in this cause meant nothing. If he joined, fantastic, if he didn't, no loss.

Such thoughts passed through Grindelwald's mind and he sighed in irritation at himself and quietly stepped out of the shop he'd been lingering in to quietly make his way to their decided meeting location. It was open, relatively, in case Aberforth decided he really just wanted to hex the hell out of Gellert for nothing.

Aberforth, for one, had no intention of joining any of Gellert's hair-brained schemes. He wasn't even that interested. Well, no. That was a lie. He was very interested, though mostly because he knew that Albus would be involved in some way eventually. That, and Ariana may also be brought into the crossfire. He would be damned if they had a repeat of what happened in life. No matter who was getting involved from his family, Aberforth wanted to know what was going on. He felt he deserved that much. Being left in the dark was no fun either.

He hadn't made any effort to get all that cleaned up. Gellert should at least be grateful that the goat smell had been washed away from the clothing he decided to wear for the occasion.

Aberforth had promised himself one thing for the day: that he would not be swayed by Gellert's words. He knew they were eloquent and pretty, shaping things into the way he wanted them. Aberforth wasn't one to fall under his spell, to say the very least. So, with that in mind, he made his way to the location they had agreed upon where he waited until he saw Gellert come into view.

"You're late," he said, crossing his arms over his chest. By one minute. No big deal, but still!

"Ah, forgive me," he said in good nature and summoned the most willful of smiles to his handsome face. "I don't have a watch," he added with a faint wink while silently gesturing for Aberforth to lead the way, "Walk with me?" he suggested and casually fell into a lazy gait. Gellert had never been capable of sitting still while discussing any sort of plan with any being, lesser or of equal status, walking or pacing really helped him think clearly. He remained silent for a long moment though, his bright eyes passing here and there idly, observing the oddities of muggle creations that mixed with the wizarding ideals.. it was subtle certainly but if one looked hard enough they could see.

"Well, clearly you have some interest in what I have to say otherwise you'd not be here or I would be with a broken nose and you gone away before a word passed between us," he said lightly and cast a sideways glance at the boy who had destroyed everything in that past life. "So I presume you have a set of questions as thus far all of those I've met have, the first and foremost being what am I planning? Well that I shall answer for you whether you wish to know or not. But first off I must ask about what you see now while we're walking, what do you notice about these people?" he questioned casually and gestured around before placing his hand on Aberforth's shoulder in a friendly fashion.

"What do you feel when you look at these people?"

Aberforth lifted an eyebrow, annoyed at just how... how... gay he really was. Perhaps it was because he knew... or whatever. Either way, he didn't like spending any time at all with Gellert. Still, he had said he would meet him, so he'd hear him out on the shit he was planning. "Whatever." He shoved his hands into his pockets and fell into step with him, watching Gellert out of the corner of his eye, warily.

"I want to know what you're plotting, that's all," he said. "And don't think you won't end up with a broken nose. I did it to Albus, I can sure as hell do it to you." He watched him as he spoke, glaring slightly. Then Gellert asked the question and Aberforth had to oblige and glance around. He stiffened as Gellert's hand rested on his shoulder, clearly very uncomfortable with the contact.

"I just see people," he told him. "Granted, I'll bet most of them are idiots, but I don't see anything special. Why?"

"Yes, we both know you've punched me before," he said mildly and slowly lowered his hand from Aberforth's shoulder, he'd recognized the discomfort immediately but a quick removal would have been stupid. But back to business, Gellert glanced around too as he'd asked his new companion to do and he smiled in earnest when Dumbledore made his answer.

"That is what I thought," he said evasively then finally cast his gaze back around to the younger boy, his face brightening considerably at what he was going to say next. "Nothing special... there's nothing.. worthy about these people, there's nothing in them that makes them specifically precious.." Gellert shrugged a shoulder. "They just are.. But when I look at our people, our community.. people like dear Ariana and your brother Albus.. well that's special, they are something else altogether and so are you and me. We're magical brethren whether you like it or not, these people, how many of them do you think have magical blood in their veins Aberforth? How many are what we are but are too afraid to show it?" he said and gestured around.

"Did we live in a world were we feared to walk out of our doors for the violent persecution we thought we would face if we did? No. We were free," he continued. "Free... to do whatever we wanted. But now look,. we're suppressed and hidden away, a defeated and vagabond group of pathetic standbys who lack the conviction and will to do anything, where our children are not taught the most basic skills necessary to control their magic... and I want to change that. I want to form a revolution of a united magical peoples and fight for a freedom that should be ours. I want to give us back a world that is of our own making, our own choosing and not something governed by the constraints of muggle technology and science."

"And I can do it again," he snapped, almost relieved when Gellert removed the hand from his shoulder. He really couldn't stand the man and the touching was so not something he wanted to deal with. He wondered if Albus would be jealous, but quickly decided that he didn't even care.

Aberforth crossed his arms over his chest--a defensive action. He wasn't going to let Gellert sell this to him easily. He didn't trust him at all, and he was sure that it showed plainly all over his face. "So what?" he asked him. "Just because they're not worthy in your eyes doesn't mean they're not worthy to someone else. Hell, Albus spent a good deal of his life protecting Muggles after he defeated your sorry arse. Probably because he saw value in them that you couldn't see. So what if we have something they don't have or can do extra special things that make them look inferior. Just because they don't have magical blood doesn't mean they need to be disposed of."

He looked away from him and watched a person walk by, glancing at them suspiciously. "I think it's the fault of the dumbshit minister who outed us," he told him. "We don't have to get rid of Muggles to be free again, I'm sure." He wasn't brilliant, so he couldn't see far enough to form a plan of action, but he knew somebody could. He wasn't the leader type like Gellert or Albus were. Still, he knew that he didn't hate Muggles, and therefore wasn't really buying what Gellert was selling. "I'm sure wizards weren't a secret before the Founders came along. We just have to make ourselves a secret again. We don't have to bloody fight for anything." He hated fighting huge battles. The defeat of Voldemort had been challenging enough for him to get into.
