Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Oh it's that time of year agaaaaiiiin...

1. Cat things!
Mostly toys or a bed or a cat care book. Or even just tips on cat raising. We just found two very sweet stray male kittens (4-5 months old) in our backyard and we had them de-flea-ed and vaccinated and I needs stuff to keep them from tearing up mah house. >=(

2. Rat things!
I can't afford to keep buying my rats toys that they just destroy in a single night. If anyone has an extra small-ish stuffed animal that they honestly wouldn't mind having a bunch of rats rip to shreds, I'd appreciate it. And so would they, the little buzzards. ;)

3. I think I'd like an icon with the lyrics to "Drink With Me" from Les Miserables on it.

4. Fancy paper/notebooks/journals. I love paper.

5. I could use knee high socks something fierce. All I have are these blasted short ones and my legs are coooold (I live in Minnesota, by the by, it's cold).

6. Harry Potter stuff! Mostly I want those Harry Potter stamps from... Britain? I don't remember, but they have pictures of each of the books on them and four others with each of the house crests on them. They are amazing. I tried to order them, but apparently American addresses confuse their post office. I'd be willing to pay for them, if someone could get a hold of 'em. :)

7. Book suggestions to add to my book list. I'm always looking for more.

8. Any Alan Rickman DVD except: An Awfully Big Adventure, Dark Harbor, Help I'm a Fish, Die Hard, the Harry Potter movies, Love Actually, or Sense and Sensibility- I have those. ^^ I might be forgetting one or two, I don't know. I forget which ones I've only seen and which ones I actually have. Mostly I am looking for ,Blow Dry, as that movie amuses me greatly.

9. I would like more IJ friends. I don't update much, but I read my friends list every day... I am really into Harry Potter and slash, but I don't oft' post about either, so if it bugs you, it shouldn't be too big of a deal... I also crochet and am working on learning to knit- it's hard what with going to college and all, though...

10. My Amazon.com Wish List

You can contact me at white_rat at insanejournal dot com. :)

PS. I remember last year there was some drama (at least in the LJ comm) about people linking to their wish lists in the comments. I would like to humbly ask you to please link to your wish lists in my comments. Especially if you're a Harry Potter nut. I may have something for you. :)

Re: your Amazon list -- I have spare copies of Tale of the Body Thief and The Vampire Armand. They aren't the same editions as the ones you have listed, but if you want them let me know.

Cat care tips:

Have a cat pan on each level of your home. IF they have access to your basement, make sure there is a place down there for them to use the loo.
Feed in two separate places, it makes them move around and get exercise and cuts down on fights.
Empty boxes are the second best cat toys with only the plastic ring off a milk jug being better. Trust me. I've bought the nice toys and had them ignored for boxes and milk jug rings/lids.
Cat nip does not always make them hyper. Some will get mellow off the stuff.

Make sure you get the boys spayed, that'll help a lot. You'll also want some scratching posts: these can be homemade with any kind of lumber and cheap carpet or rope, or bought cheaply. You don't necessarily need the $200+ "kitty condo towers", believe me.

My list is here, if you are so inclined. :-)

I live in Minnesota, too, and if you want a cat scratching post, I've got one cluttering up the hallway here!!!

And I make hand-knit cat toys, so I can offer you those, as well.

:D

And *friending you*

I suppose it would be polite to say where I am first. ;)

I'm in southern Minnesota, like, a half hour away from Mankato...

I'm in the twin cities. However, I CERTAINLY do not mind road trips! I have a decent car, and I love driving around the state. Mankato isn't that far, anyway. I go down to Northfield all the time. :D

So, yeah! We should make plans and I'll make you some kitty toys!!! ^_^

I second the advice to get them fixed; do it now, before one of them decides, "I am the Man Cat, I mark my territory" and pees all over your bookshelf or something.

A sturdy cardboard box covered with scraps of astroturf or something equally scratchable and durable is a cheap and easy scratching post. Actually, boxes in general; you can't go wrong with the cat/box OTP.

And, like [info]littleblackbow, I knit cat toys and would be happy to send you some.

My wish list is here.
