Seriously, this is fantastic. I probably wouldn't have ever come across this story if it hadn't been in msilverstar's recs, but I'm ever so glad she pointed me this way.
This story is the right mixture of slightly wistful, funny, and just the claustrophobic-but-not-quite atmosphere you create is wonderful. Also? Seriously fantastic characters. Orlando is so sweet, and while he's painted from the perspective of an obviously smitten fan, he's still... managing not to remain stuck in that category, you know? And while OFC's tend to be, well. You know, not such a good idea most of the time, this OFC was so realistic and lovely in her reactions that I couldn'thelp but adore her without so much as a hint of Mary-Sue-chanting in my head. And I love that this whole story remains in the what-if, because I don't think more would have worked for me. But this, this worked perfectly. Great writing.
