7:44AM - Its that time of year again ...
Tomorrow is the 40th annual Bridge Day celebration in my town. About three hundred people will come from all around the world to jump off the New River Gorge Bridge, the fourth-longest single-span arch bridge in the world. Then there are all the people coming to rappel off the bridge, bungee jump off the bridge and just walk the bridge. They're expecting about 100,00 people to crowd into my little area tomorrow.
I'm glad I no longer work in the restaurant business because this was always one of the busiest days of the year. I can't help but wonder about people who put on a bit of silk and nylon and let themselves be catapulted 876 feet into the river below.
So that is what's happening tomorrow in my area. Any unusual fall celebrations in your town?

8:31AM - Ask me how I'm Croneing.
Well, it's been three months since I had my hysterectomy. I expected hot flashes, bursts of emotions that come out of nowhere... the whole host of menopausal symptoms.
I haven't had one.
Seriously, no hot flashes. I am amazed. Not that I'm complaining mind you, I'd rather not but I expected them. I even read a book, In Praise of the Crone by Dorthy Morrison, which was excellent. Still, it seemed to be given I'd have hot flashes at the very least.
Maybe I wasn't working right, to begin with. Still, I worry that there is something wrong with me. I'll bring it up to my regular doctor when I see her in December.
Till then, I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth.
