4:45PM - HL references in pop culture (spoilers)

So, I was reading Evermore by Alyson Noel, which is one of those new fad supernatural teen romance series (in similar vein as the Twilight stuff). But instead of vampires, this one has immortals. Of course, its own brand of immortals, not much like those in HL save for the whole living forever thing. And right at the end there was a very sneaky, subtle HL reference.

"Did I-kill her?" I ask, not quite sure how I feel a out that, despite what she did to my family, and all the times she claimed to have killed me.

He nods.

"But-how? I mean, if she's immortal, then wasn't I supposed to cut off her head?"

He shakes his head and laughs. "What kind of books are you reading?"
