Bringing the past to the present
|Theme:||A place for people who enjoy all or any forms of living history, re-enactment or re-creation|
|About:||I have noticed that there doesn’t seem to be any community for re-enactors, living historians, or re-creationists here on IJ, and while my first reaction was ‘how sad, too bad, I will just have to wait’, my second was why wait for someone else? I know there aren’t that many of use here, but I’m sure IJ will grow, and so will people interested in these things. Due to the small amount of people interested (according to searches) to re-enactment, living history, historical re-creation etc this community will be very broad. I hope as the user base grows more specific communities will develop and thrive. For now, this is an outlet where people interested in re-living or re-creating aspects of any historical period can share anything to do with their interests, and as a place to eventually advertise new communities as they spring up- which I hope they will. |
From dress diaries, to research, to fighting tactics, to persona’s, to interacting with public- its all welcome here. You don't have to be a re-enactor etc either- if you are someone who is interested, or likes going to events and fairs you are welcome too!
You are also MOST WELCOME to make new tags/tag entries.
I invite new members to post an introduction! Think about including:
Name (what you want us to call you)
Any other names you have (persona, other journal names etc, that you want us to know)
How long have you been involved or interested in living history/re-enactment/re-creation
What you like most about it
What period/s you do (or like to watch the most)
What periods you have done in the past, want to do, think are really really cool.
Any groups/societies you are in.
There are only a few
1) Please respect others, our opinions may differ, and you may disagree but remember to respect your fellow members
2) This asylum is very broad, but doesn’t encompass anime, fantasy or sci-fi etc. It does encompass any historical period before you were born
3) If you are from a group with group specific terms, then remember others may not know them- please provide a translation! Also, things mean different things in different places, so remember that.
4) Remember to cut long posts and many pictures etc.
5) Have fun, be nice.
