They really were. I felt like an idiot when I realized that, because, duh, who else would've invented it? The cranberry bogs have always been here, and coastal New England has most of them. Apparently, those maple sugar soaked nuts they sell at fairs are also an Algonquin recipe. melusinahp @ : Regarding BDSM fic and How it Should be Written Don't tell other women what they can and can't write. Don't tell them how they can and can't express their kinks. Please keep in mind that when we write fanfic, we are writing fiction. We are exploring our fantasies, not demonstrating how our kinks work in real life. If you don't like something you are reading, then backclick. If you want to post a BDSM instruction manual drawing from your own, specific personal life experience than go for it! I'm sure a lot of people will be grateful and find it extremely informative. But when I see one woman in fandom saying that she hopes a post will stop other women in fandom from writing a particular kink because it isn't written the way they personally want to see it written it make me furious with furious rage. Especially if you are coming from the perspective of someone who lives a lifestyle that is frowned up and denigrated by greater society. You should know better. You don't try and stop other women from expressing their kinks in fiction. You don't tell them to do it "right" or shut up. Women should not be trying to silence other women. Given that, I challenge anyone who reads this and is interested to write and post BDSM fic in their LJ written exactly to their own personal kinks. Make it completely realistic, if that's what gets you going, or don't worry about making it realistic at all. Do it if you've got 10 years of experience in the BDSM community, do it if you're vanilla as hell in real life, do it as a celebration of the freedom we have in fandom to express ourselves exactly as we please through fiction. Just don't tell other women what they should and shouldn't write and don't let anyone else tell you what you should and should't write. November 23rdbabydraco @ : So that's the criteria? But this week's had a baffling quote that described people who can list their favorite Harry Potter books in order as "hard core fans". Because, I mean, wow. Who else but a hard core Harry Potter obsessive actually has favorites in the series and like, knows all the titles in order? That's just not normal. November 22ndbabydraco @ :
And now I have this vid that has to be the weirdest thing I've ever done. It's sad and creepy constructed reality that might give anyone unfamiliar with these books some interesting impressions. It also kind of inspires a whole original plot I should maybe do something with. November 21stroedhunt @ : December 21, 2012 Have any of you heard about it? If you have, what's your thoughts on it? If you haven't there's a few websites about it. Here's one called, funny enough, December 21, 2012. *g* November 20thsweetmelodykiss @ : Ewe Author: Rating: PG Pairing: Severus/Harry/Draco Time Line: Post War Word Count: 361 Summary: Severus gets punched in the nose on his wedding day. Tags: daniel radcliffe roedhunt @ : Inside The Actor's Studio MEME I would love to hear your answers! Here are the questions: What is your favourite word? What is your least favourite word? What one thing turns you on, excites you, inspires you? What turns you off? What sound or noise do you love? What sound or noise do you hate? What is your favourite curse word? What other skill or trade other than your current one would you like to attempt? What job would you absolutely not like to do? If Heaven exists, what would you like God to say to you when you arrive at the pearly gates? ( And here are MY answers: ) ^^ November 18thbabydraco @ :
1) Because they want someone else to do all their research for them. I just, if it's *possible* to physically find out the answer yourself by going to the place, doing the thing, or just observing the world around you, you're better off doing that. This is about people who can, and choose not to. 2) Because trying to write 50,000 words in one month apparently scrambles your brain (as the highly entertaining Nanoisms thread proves). 3) Because they're procrastinating. Nothing helps you procrastinate more than research. 4) They either don't know how to word their questions effectively or they didn't take the time to consider what they specifically wanted to know. ( But there are two other reasons I thought of that are a lot less simple. ) sweetmelodykiss @ : A Pensieve Moment Author: Pairing: Lupin/Snape Rating: R Word Count: 100 x 2 Summary: Remus leaves his Pensieve on the table and Severus can't resist looking into it.
