Under the cut, you will find a comprehensive list of characters that we are currently ACTIVELY SEEKING, so if you see a name that you'd like, leave a comment to lay your claim (please note all claims must have applications submitted within 7 days of their claim in order to keep the character). All names are taken directly from the Harry Potter wikipedia page, for those with only one name (i.e. "Cadwallader") please feel free to make up your own first or last name. Also, some years have been changed for gaming purposes.

Premise
PREMISE
Harry Potter. The boy who lived. We all know the story as told by JK Rowling, but what about the other characters? What other events took place at Hogwarts during his time there? Did people fall in love? Did they get their hearts broken? Did two best friends find love after years of being each others closest confidant? Who held the world record for detentions with Professor Snape?
Will your character support Harry or will they join in on a chorus of Potter Stinks? Will you be that shy Ravenclaw that finds love with the wild Slytherin? Your destiny awaits with us.....
Hogwartsishome is a partial canon RPG. Which means that while there will be some canon events {Quidditch games, Hogsmeade visits as well as some "events" from the books} there will also be events thrown in merely for the entertainment of our players. Canon relationships as welcome, but not enforced (so if Draco Malfoy wants to date Hermione Granger, we say go for it).

CHARACTERS:
How many characters can I play?
Right now, you may play as many characters as you can keep up with. However, we do have some guidelines regarding this:
→ Please try and place your students in different years/Houses. Yes, we know its fun to play a courageous Gryffindor, or a snarky Slytherin, but if all of your characters are "carbon copies" of each other, it gets a little boring don't you think?
→ Please allow for equal time for all your characters. The only way we can build friendships/relationships is if certain characters aren't favored over another.
→ We understand that people cannot dedicate 100% of their time to being online. However, we do ask that you try to be active at a minimum of twice a week.
Can I play someone who is not at school?
Sorry, no! All outside events will only be reflected in news articles, letters, and other forms of written material. The scope of this game is being limited to students currently attending Hogwarts. At this time Professors are also not available for play. HOWEVER if for example you wish to run a log with a Professor/other adult (i.e. if Draco Malfoy wants to interact with his parents) please post up a sidelog in the community, and one of the mods will respond as appropriate.

Go HERE and fill out the application. Post it as a comment to the entry and a MOD will get you set up ASAP. Once your character is accepted, you will be sent invites to the communities and may begin posting ASAP. We also ask that you then fill out the character bio sheet (located HERE) and post it as a new entry on your characters journal.

How Do I Share?
I just joined, can I establish friendships randomly?
→ As long as you clear it with the characters first, I see no reason why this cannot be done. For the most part, all characters here are very friendly and easily approached.
RULES:
→ Always be respectful towards all players, please.
→ If your thread contains material that may offend someone (sex/violence/strong language) we ask that you place a WARNING label on your thread. → Always be respectful towards all players, please.
→ If your character is not in a thread, you cannot "magically" know what was said.
→ Your character may not be "perfect". Lets face it, everyone has their flaws.
→ YOU MAY NOT KILL OFF ANY CHARACTER THAT DOES NOT BELONG TO YOU. If you should wish to kill off one of your own characters, you may, but please let the mods know ahead of time so we can update the list.
→Private storylines are encouraged! If two people want to get together for a scene, that is great, just make sure both players are on the same page (i.e. a death eater character using the imperius curse on another).
FORMAT:
Please follow the following format when posting a side-log:
WHO: Characters involved.
WHAT: Brief synopsis of the thread/log.
WHERE: Location of scene.
WHEN: Date and time of scene.
RATING: G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17.
STATUS: The status of the log.
And most importantly.... HAVE FUN!!!
