So apparently I don't know what the real definition of crackfic is, thanks for putting me wise.
I thought crackfic meant something you write to just scratch an itch without setting it up properly or stringing it out at a reasonable pace but just charging in to the "good parts" right away. That's what this is shaping up to be. Skimped set-up as I rushed to the "good parts".
So again, in case you're new to this, this is the sequel to LET'S GET LOST, in which Buffy left Sunnydale after s2, went to New York City, encountered a mysteriously-souled Spike, and spent the summer helping him work on getting rid of his soul the way she got rid of Angel's.
Now she's back in Sunnydale, sore hearted and depressed, a misfit at home and school. And Spike's back ....
( Spike, get out of here. I mean it. )
