Having just tried to convince Melinda that she needed to take some time off via the journals, Gwen decided that perhaps she needed to come convince her in person. Granted she could have waited until Mel got home, but what was the fun in that? Besides she'd always fancied an excuse to snog Mel on her desk. It was the main reason she'd arrived at Melinda's office wearing only a trenchcoat and very little else. She did have a basket of muffins and a couple of salads, plus champagne, though the carrier bag was opaque so no one would be able to tell.

"Missy, darling!" Gwen said with a grin and a slight bounce in her step as she walked over to Mel's assistant's desk and perched herself on a corner in order to air-kiss her in greeting. Although a little concerned at first, Gwen had gotten to know the pretty brunette over the years and gotten to like her fairly well. Of course, as far as Melissa was aware, Gwen was just her boss' best friend, but it hadn't stopped Gwen from sometimes wondering if she fancied fulfilling her boss' needs in other manners. "I come bearing muffins!" she said, holding up the basket for her to see and then the other one containing a carrier bag. "And lunch for your massively overworked boss. Tell me she's free?!"
