A Walk in the Park WHO: Peri and Les, Lucy in tag-a-long, Ian if he wants WHAT: Talking about life as it is WHEN: Post coming back to the city, NYC that is WHERE: More or less Central Park
They were alone now. Or as alone as anyone got in Central Park. It was interesting really, surrounded by so many people, but noticed by so few. Sure, some noticed three attractive women walking around together, two of them in lab coats and scrubs. The way the possibly oldest wore her clothes, she looked as if she could be comfortable in anything, even a trash bag if that was what she had to wear, or nothing at all if it came down to that. The other lab coat female? Well, she didn't look happy, but at least she wasn't being pulled along by an invisible kiddie wrist leash. The third female seemed to calm her down. If Les trusted Peri, Peri must not be all bad, right?
"So, tell me again what happened, slowly. Lucy, darling, don't fall too far behind." It wasn't a threat exactly, but Lucy had been on the receiving end of some of Peri's nonthreats. "You were attacked by someone? And your mother is now dead?"
Les had given a few details, but Peri needed more. She'd not had time to look into Les' parents, which was something she'd kick herself for if she were the type to regret much. Life hadn't exactly made it easy to be regretful; if she'd had that trait, she'd probably have committed suicide many times over.
Peri bent down a little as they walked and gave Les' pup a quick little rub tween the ears. If Les didn't have the cutie on a leash, Peri could easily create an invisible one. The pup was a decent distraction, or at least, it gave Peri something to do while she listened.
